A Bitter Solution to Break Bad Habits š š«
As someone who has struggled with nail biting for years, I was eager to try Mavala's Stop formula in hopes of finally kicking the habit. This clear treatment polish promises to discourage nail nibbling with its intensely bitter taste. And for the most part, it delivers on that claim. The first thing I noticed after applying Mavala Stop is just how potent and lingering the bitter taste is. One little lick of your nail and you're met with an incredibly unpleasant flavor that forcefully reminds you to keep fingers out of your mouth. For determined nail biters like myself, that powerful aversive element is key.I also appreciated how the product goes on smoothly with a clear, glossy finish - no gloppy white mess. It wears well for a couple days before needing to be reapplied. The small 10ml bottle also lasts quite a while with regular use. However, there are a couple downsides to note. The intense bitterness can accidentally transfer to foods if you're not diligent about keeping your nails away from your mouth entirely. There's also no real way to "cheat" the system - even a tiny taste is enough to make you regret taking that nail-nibbling risk.Overall, Mavala Stop is an effective tool for combating nail biting and thumb sucking habits, especially for motivated individuals. The foul taste really does discourage those unconscious biting urges. Just be prepared for an incredibly bitter experience if you slip up, and take care not to get it in your food. For me, it's been worth the tradeoff to finally break this destructive habit.

immediate results
having kept my nails short all my life through biting them,i found that i was chewing them shorter and shorter,so i decided to do something about it.having read the reviews i sent off for it and received it promptly. i excitedly read the instructions and although the instructions say apply at bedtime,i thought as the postman had made a special effort to deliver the post early that day,1.00pm,i applied it immediately. what a mistake that was!using it has involved me in incurring extra expense and forced life changing habits on me.for my evening meal that day i ate chicken using my fingers. another bad mistake! a foul numbing taste hit the roof of my mouth. i had forgotten the newly applied mavala to my fingers.some time later i had again forgotten about the mavala and attempted to extract the bits of chicken from between the ample gaps in my teeth using a combination of my tongue and finger. again i was immediately reminded what was on my fingers!thats where the additional expense comes in. i had to purchase some cocktail sticks from the local supermarket to use as toothpicks,as i was mortified at the thought of putting my fingers in my mouth again.my favourite method of eating yogurt is by dipping my forefinger in the pot and sucking the yogurt off my finger. that has had to change and whilst using mavala i have had to resort to using a spoon like the rest of humanity.i watched a dvd the other evening with my 5 year old grandson sat on my knee cuddled into me. i was eating chips from the takeaway using my fingers. i popped a chip into his mouth and immediately after swallowing it he screwed his face up in disgust and said indignantly "granddad,i have a disgusting taste in my mouth, and it wont go away!" a quick drink returned him to normality, and a plus point of the incident was that i didnt have to share any more chips with him as he thought they were the source of the taste.eating peanuts became a work of art as i had to make sure the peanuts entered my mouth without my fingers touching my lips, and sucking the flavour off my fingers became a definite no no.i am going to recommend mavala to my dentist. he doesnt bite his nails but i am sure it would be cheaper to give his patients a squirt of mavala into their mouth instead of anaestetic. i am not saying it would numb the pain but it would certainly occupy their minds.i have given the mavala a 5 star rating, but that says i love it. so really i should have given it 1 star because i hate it,but it gets 5 stars because it is an excellant product and does what it was purchased for extremely quickly.it is so good that i only used it twice,so i have unused mavala and unused cocktail sticks, because i am now back to eating yogurt with my forefinger and extracting foodstuffs from between my teeth with my tongue and finger. eating peanuts is now back to normal.i am now in possession of a lovely set of nails. i sit there admiring them and they seem to be screaming "bite me! if you dare!" that i dare not. i am considering offering my nails to a photographic modelling agency. i am sure that with the latest technology they would be able to airbrush the copious wrinkly skin off my hands and fingers.i see from reading other reviews that this product is used on children. if i was one of those children i would want the applicator prosecuted for child cruelty, even though my grandson would be getting it if he starts biting his nails!i dont think i will bite my nails again, not as long as the memory of the taste stays with me!

I DID IT!
NAIL UPDATEIve been biting my nails since i understood they were there. Ive never bitten the skin , just the nail and they are so SO bad. ive only managed to grow them a TINY bit around 10 times. i now have a little girl. I dont want her to see me do it and pick up the habbit. i feel embarssed about them every single day, esepcially when i hand someone money, retrieve something etc i always try and hide them but sometimes some people see and they cant hide their digust.. i cant blame them. If my nails get better ill feel confident to do a before and after. The taste of this is HORNEDOUS, its like a rotten chemical matal. The thing is, the taste stays in your mouth for a really long time. In a way its good as its makeing me resent the thought of biting my nails, its constantly reminding me to stay away which is good as alot of the time i dont even know im biting them. Bad thing is when you eat crisps, wraps, even an ice lolly. If your mouth goes near your finger or your finger on the food you will be guaranteed to get the polish taste which is NOT pleasant. Even drinking doesn't get it to go, just waiting.UPDATE _ Grown my nails after whole life without them?so i started my nail journey on the 27th March and the latest picture is from 13th May. It wasn't the easiest of journeys, sometimes I had the urge to bite and when I did I just put even more polish on. I have bitten a bit of each thumb. I felt awful after. I also chipped a nail and bit it to straighten it out....other than that it was surprisingly easy to stop, once I started seeing results I didn't want to do it.This polish definitely sped up the nail growth, in one day I saw results and you can see it in the pictures. It also adds a nice shiny coat to your nail so despite the awful taste.. it helped a lot. Spending my whole life with no nails becauze i was constantly destroying them, I was skeptical about what they'd look like when they did grow. I will say that they aren't as strong as most peoples, as time goes on they are getting stronger though. The shape isn't what I'd call normal? Maybe that's just how they are or maybe the biting played a part?It makes life so much easier, I can open bracelets and necklace charms, I can scratch price stickers off items. I no longer try and hide to my fingers when passing someone money, I dont feel ashamed anymore and it feels AMAZING like a weight has lifted. I'm even ordering some nail polish and a base coat to try and paint them :) I'm really excited. To everyone with a nail biting habit, you can do it!!!!
