It pours accurately!
Back story: Yesterday we bought some ground coffee from Costco that had rave reviews, but remembered we no longer had a cafetiere after our clear-out of frustrating belongings before moving house. (The cafetiere we dismissed was from Sainsburys about 8 years ago. It looked nice, but the spout was so rounded that so much coffee was wasted with it being impossible not to pour without it dribbling down the cafetiere - this also meant always having to pour drinks over the sink.Back to yesterday: The Costco we were in didn't sell cafetieres, and being a Sunday, other shops were soon closing. So, remembering the amazing Amazon delivery service, I searched for the cafetiere with most and best reviews.Today: It arrived in time to wash it up for making after-lunch coffees, all in tact and well-protected in the packaging.Easy to wash, looks smart, and more importantly pours accurately! The cafetiere recommends using course-ground coffee, and the coffee we bought yesterday is fairly fine, but had no problem with it getting blocked or with granules passing through.I hope this lasts us many years!

Not amazing, but pretty good.
I'm really quite hesitant about writing this review. When I bought the product I really wanted to love it because it was a Bodum and you always hear nothing but good things. Let's backtrack a bit...I started getting into nice coffee probably around a year ago. I've always just drank the instant stuff, but having tried a proper cup of the brown gold my hearts been yearning for something a bit more special. I had a conversation with a fellow coffee-drinking friend and he recommended I try a french press. Intrigued, I nipped to Sainsburys and bought a cheap french press.I must admit, it actually wasn't a bad wee job at all. Plastic in materials, but ultimately produced nicer coffee than any instant I've ever tried. So yes, one day I dropped it and it shattered. A part of me was secretly delighted for I've been eyeing up a Bodum press for a while. I went straight to Amazon and placed my order for the Bodum Chambord (the very one being reviewed).Once it arrived, I excitedly (yet carefully) removed the item from the packaging. Wow - she's a beaut. The materials appear to be very sturdy and of a high quality. A very stylish addition to any kitchen countertop. Now onto the coffee. The coffee turned out absolutely delicious. I'm not going to lie - I expected nothing less. Ultimately this is a great french press. It looks the part. It appears to be well made and produces lovely coffee. So why only 4 stars?Well, within the first 1-2 weeks of ownership, I noticed a slight change in how the lid fit over the glass. At first, it was nice and snug, creating a secure seal and kept the coffee extra hot for a reasonable amount of time as it brew. But after those initial few break-in weeks, the lid no longer gave that secure fit. Now it just sort of sits loosely. You could almost say it's just hanging there. The lid is on, but it's not sitting tight with the glass.Does this affect the quality of the coffee? I'd say it does a bit, but not tremendously. It still makes a really good cup of coffee, but it's never really proper hot once poured. Normally I'll give it a blast in the microwave after just to bring it up to scratch.Still, 4 stars for a good wee french press!

The little life saver...
I've been going to get one of these coffee makers for some time, now I've done it and I'm so glad I did. It's a simple item that works...it looks good, it's easy to use and easy to clean, unlike my old percolator. You couldn't ask for more! Now, there's never a shortage of reviving, restorative, comforting coffee available, and it was a good price, too!

A necessity in any home!
I’ve bought two of these - one for me and one for a friend as a gift.If you drink pressed coffee, or you want to be a great host that makes their guests pressed coffee, then you can’t go wrong here. It has a very classic look and high build quality. It makes exactly what you want it to and makes it well. The pressing action is also very satisfying! At this size you will get about 3-5 cups, depending on just how much you drink.Overall very pleased.

Ideal - just perfect
Although Bodum seem slightly expensive it is well worth the extra. Sure this will last many years, just like our last one.

Bought as a replacement - still happy about make
This is the second that we have owned. Last one did over 20 years, that finally cracked from regular use.Highly recommend this make and size. So glad that the new one fits the hand made cover that my mum made over 20 years ago for the old one.I hope this one gives us as much joy, and great coffee.
