I don’t usually write reviews but I felt strongly that this product deserves one. I bought the powder version primarily for rust stains on our white quartz worktops. I have previously used every product I could think of at home, nothing worked (cif, mr muscle, dettol cleaners, scourers, fairy, bleach products, I know I shouldn’t use these but I was desperate). The rust stains prevailed. Then while I was searching for how to hide stains on quartz worktops, I came across this product and thought let’s try this out as well. It was like magic. I put the powder on top, gently rubbed it with a wet sponge and saw the stain slowly disappearing. One reapplication and the stain was completely gone. I had a massive smile on my face.I then applied this to a horrible lime scale deposit on the edges of one of my taps. It was absolutely solid. It took a few applications, around four, and a good rubbing with a sponge, but the tap looks almost new now. Really amazing stuff.It didn’t work as well on fat deposits on an induction hob, around the same as anything else we have used such as fairy liquid or a specialised induction hob cleaner.The smell is not as horrible as some other reviews mention. It is strong in the moment but doesn’t last. I can highly recommend this. Not just a bar keepers friend but any family’s friend at home.

It works brilliantly

This product is very similar to the old style scouring powders like Vim and Ajax. The only difference that I could find, was this powder was less granular but seemed to tackle stains no better or worse. However, because the powder is less coarse, it didn't leave the same residue - which meant less time spent wiping it away. The cleaning results are particularly good on stainless steel sinks and baths, but I was disappointed that it barely dented hard water stains on tiles in the shower.This is my second order. I like the convenience of the smaller plastic pack - it doesn't look unsightly left in a bathroom. The only other criticism I have, is that the top is rather hard to flip open - I actually snapped the first one off.On balance, this is a good product but not the miracle cleaning agent that some reviewers claim.

I managed to get a dark circular stain on a wooden countertop while cooking when I inadvertently placed a tin can on a bit of the worktop that was wet. The metal must have reacted with the wood and I couldn't get the stain out with soapy water. Had a minor panic that the only way to get the stain out would be to sand the worktop but I did some research online and saw that someone had recommended trying this product instead. I was a bit nervous because the product didn't specifically say it could be used on wood, but I am so happy I tried it. I put a small splash of water in a plastic dish and sprinkled some powder on top and used a cotton bud to form a paste. I then used the cotton bud to apply the product to the stain. I was worried about discolouring the wood so initially only put it on a small patch for about 30 seconds, then wiped it away with damp kitchen roll. To my delight, the stain had almost entirely disappeared. I then applied the paste on the whole stain, wiping it off after about 30 seconds. This probably wasn't long enough as I could still see a very very faint outline of the stain, so I repeated this once more. The stain is now completely gone and the product did not discolour the wood. So pleased with how effective this was and also how affordable. Would thoroughly recommend trying this before resorting to any drastic measures like sanding a worktop to get rid of a stain!
