Works great after no mo May
Made short work of my garden after a few months of neglect, reducing it all to length that I could even out with my manual mower. Makes for a very easy tidy up too as it all comes out as long bits rather than lots of tiny ones scattered everywhere. It doesn't come sharpened - you'll need to do this and keep it that way for optimum use, but if you do then this is a wonderful tool. If you dislike the idea of having to sharpen something then this is not the tool for you (seemingly the reason for others rating it poorly).

Blunt and ineffective
Not sharp at all. For cut overgrown grass it's pretty useless gave up after 10 mins and went a bought sheers

This scythe blade is not ‘Razorsharp’!
Despite it’s title, this scythette blade arrives in a blunt, unsharpened state. So be prepared to grind an edge on it and sharpen it yourself. If you know how to sharpen a blade, you can get this very sharp quite easily. But if you don’t own a grinder and a hone, and know how to use them, this blade is not for you. It’s not a bad bit of kit but the title ‘Razorsharp’’ is rather misleading.

Useless
I bought this hoping it would save my back a little, and also save a little electricity by not using a strimmer. Of course I remembered the scythe my dad used to use, many decades ago, in the days when tools were made sturdily, meant to last long enough to be passed down through the generations, and when the design had been honed through previous generations to do the best job possible. Knowing nothing is made that way anymore I didn't expect to get something that perfect but this is nowhere near up to the job. The handle is much too short, even for me at 5 ft 4, to hold the blade at the best angle without bending over almost double. It certainly won't save my back as I had hoped. It's also too lightweight for the job.Not being very muscular I don't want anything too heavy to lift, but for the job it's meant to do it requires a certain weight behind it. This feels like it wouldn't take much to make it crumble. How I wish some enterprising company would take it upon themselves to make tools the way they were made in my father's day.
