Great for homes where real life happens.
I have a lovely pale linen beige Ikea Ektorp 3 seater sofa. Don't know what I was thinking when I got it because I also have a 7 year old boy whose eating skills don't seem to have improved much since the baby led weaning thing. I also have a large hairy black rescue dog, pictured, who is basically a dirty beast who we allow on the sofa. I know. It wasn't the plan. But he's had a hard life. And he makes this face. With the eyes. And then I can't say no.Anyway, think I had this utopian rose tinted idea that the pale sofa would be fine because the covers are removable and washable. Pfft. Yeah. I did it once. Took three days and a prevailing wind. And we've all got time to do that once a week, right? Here in the real world **** gets dropped on our sofa about every 10-15 nanoseconds. And that's before the dog comes up for an impromptu cuddle just as I pick up my glass of red wine or spits his Kong onto it (as happened just after the pic was taken) Basically I learned too late that family life does not promote the utopian pale Scandi-sofa.Enter this sofa protector. Sorted. Respect due. Etc.Helps that it matches my walls so I think it looks ok. Yes, I know, not exactly the minimalist pale Swedish chic look I had in mind but I think we've established the triumph of dystopia over utopia. I've chosen to put the back cushions over the top of the protector as the main dirt problems we tend to have are on the seat and arms but it would work to have those under the protector too as it's long enough at the back to accommodate that. There are little tab things on the underside to tuck down at the back of the cushions but in reality they aren't long enough to keep it in place once someone has sat on it. That said, it stays in place fairly well as the backing fabric keeps some friction between the cushions and the protector but I just pull it straight every few days and retuck it. It probably wouldn't work with a leather sofa, it would slide everywhere.Haven't washed it yet. But it will definitely be easier than taking off all the sofa covers, washing them inside out 2 at a time, drying them outside, ironing the beejesus out of them (linen...ugh), burning off 1500 calories wrestling them back onto the sofa...just as the dog spits his Kong onto the clean cushions.Anyway. That's my review. It was quite cathartic, actually. Thank you. I hope it helps. I'd say just get it.

Fits a large 3 seater :)
This cover fits my rather large 3 seater sofa. Initially, I was not sure because the measurements are given without the arm covers, so I was dubious whether it would fit. However the fit is perfect. The colour is more rouge than burgundy but still looks good. The quality seems very good but only time will tell how robust this cover will be with my 3 dogs! It certainly seems better than the pet blankets I was using previously.

Great value and good looking sofa protector
I've only had this a week but with 7 dogs, and a wash, it's had a good testing.I've got a large 3-seater sofa and it's the right size. I don't know about anyone else but I don't find reviews giving one stars for something that's clearly the wrong size particularly helpful, so wish they'd return and review the correct item.I ordered a 3-seater cover and that's what I good - I did measure up before ordering! The cover is a polyester microfibre - no pile, but a soft flat finish. After years of thinking fleece throws were the thing when you have dogs (they really aren't!) it's nice to have a cover that I can just take outside to shake the fluff off or hoover off, or even use a lint remover brush. It does move a bit, but then this is a very well priced product and sold basically under the one size fits all label - we know one size doesn't fit all, so I think that has to be taken into account when ordering. The measurement given is for the main panel of fabric covering the seat and back of the sofa - the arm flaps are not included.Running along the base of the arms and the back is a flap of fabric to tuck down behind the cushions - to prevent some movement. It works a bit but the flaps are only 3" deep and really could do with being 6-9".The back cover just goes over the back of my sofa so again there is movement - but again, a case of I can't expect perfection when I'm ordering a product designed to fit a number of sofas.I'm a dab hand with a sewing machine - I will be adding on more fabric to the flaps to tuck down behind the cushions. This will make the cover more secure.I have just ordered a chair cover in the same colour - the arms will be cut off to sew onto the arms of the 3-seater and the body piece will be used to extend the flap over the back of the sofa. Why have I given 5 stars when I need to modify? Because I couldn't buy the fabric to make this myself for this price, and for the price I am impressed with what it is. It fits my sofa well and it does it's job.Oh, the fabric is water repellant as found out spilling my early morning cuppa. Please though, don't get water repellant mixed up with waterproof - two very different things.

Very good product
I was a little concerned, after reading some of the negative reviews, and almost didn't buy this cover, but I'm glad I did.I couldn't be happier with this product. It's a good size, perfect for my sofa and although a little thin, does its job very well, keeping dirt and dog hairs off the sofa.I washed it for the first time yesterday and it came up like new, no problems at all.

unfortunately they slip very easily on the leather
Ordered two of these for both our leather sofas, unfortunately they slip very easily on the leather, so we are forever, putting them back on. It was difficult to tell from the description what the weight of the fabric would be like. They are very light. As well as this, they have now been washed a few times and the backing has started to tear and disintegrate. They have not been tumble dried.

Works well!
Very good! Definitely water resistant! The cover had been on my sofa for about an hour when the rescue cat I'm fostering decided to use the sofa rather than his litter tray. I found a large puddle of urine sitting on top of the sofa protector and not a single drop got through the fabric. The only reason for a 4 star rating rather than 5 stars is that I would have preferred that the cover came with elastic straps to hold it in place on the settee (I've purchased some elastic so that I can add this myself).
