Seeking HealthHomocysteine Nutrients, Formerly HomocysteX Plus, Support Homocysteine Level and Methylation, Vitamin B12, Folate (as L-methylfolate), MTHFR Gene Support (60 Capsules)

I have posted numerous positive reviews of different Seeking Health supplements because they are one of the few brands that I can always tolerate and from a professional and objective view, when I’m using their supplements, my lab tests tend to normalize. I suffer from 2 devastating chronic diseases that should have killed me years ago, but because of my medical degree with additional education in naturopathic and homeopathic medicine, I knew what to look for in a combination supplement and how to tell if a product maintains good manufacturing processes (GMP), which a lot of brands claim to follow, but since the FDA does not regulate or monitor the supplement industry, it’s up to the consumer to do their homework (which can be daunting and frustrating considering the 1000s of supplements brands).This product is excellent for people who suffer from chronic inflammation (usually due to excessive histamines in the body), and the B vitamins (especially B6) plus TMG help the body break down the histamines and assist the liver with clearing out the byproducts. I suffer from severe chronic pain and inflammation, caused by a variety of disease processes, but this product definitely helps with the inflammation, especially with digestive and gut problems. I only gave it 4 stars for pain relief, only because my disease states are so severe that I require several types of treatments, but I definitely feel a difference when I’m not taking this product.I also suggest using their probiotics product ProBiota HistaminX, Liposomal Vitamin C, Multivitamins and essential minerals products. They are all made from high quality ingredients (especially high quality chelations), are combined with the appropriate and necessary cofactors, which will save you the time and frustration of doing years of research like I had to.

I started taking this supplement when my homocysteine blood labs came back alarmingly high (17.2). After a six-month retest, my levels tested in the normal range (7.9). I also cut down on my coffee/cappuccino consumption and would recommend not testing after drinking coffee because that can elevate levels for at least 2 hours after drinking. I am convinced this product works well and will continue taking it. I will note that my vitamin B12 came back extremely elevated but apparently this is not a huge cause for concern.

Works amazingly well for my needs. Doctor checked my homocysteine levels and recommended this for me due to the results of my test. I am literally a new person. More energy and more stamina. Instead of needing 9 to 10 hours of sleep per night, I am alert and able to accomplish much more on 7 hours of sleep than I could on 10.

I have an MTHFR gene mutation. Among other things, this means that I need good vitamin support and that I cannot metabolize B vitamins unless they are in the methylated form. Seeking Health brand was originally created specifically for those of us with this gene mutation, in large part with Dr Ben Lynch, a naturopathic doctor and pioneer in the studies and treatment of this fairly common mutation.Once you begin to delve into the many areas of your life that this mutation effects, if you are anything like me, you may have many "lightbulb moments". I started this journey in earnest a few years ago, and have been very pleased with how many symptoms I've been able to decrease or eliminate with better nutrition and supplement support.HomocysteX Plus has everything you need to support methylation (a process that is broken for MTHFR sufferers) and the breakdown of homocysteine. Increased homocysteine levels are implicated in many inflammatory processes, including cardiac disease. The "plus" part of this product is the addition of TMG which supports methylation processes.**Please note, if you are just starting your journey in treating your MTHFR and just beginning the methylation process, it is recommended that you start with the plain HomocysteX first. I did just that and worked up to use other supportive measures, including switching up to the HomocysteX Plus. It takes some time to adjust to the methylation processes coming on and functioning properly. If you try to do too much, too fast, you will make yourself feel worse.

I have been looking for AGES for a product that combined the methylated forms of the B vitamins essential to control homocysteine, and this is the first product I have found that contains B6 as P5P, folic acid as methyltetrahydrofolate, and B12 as methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. It also contains riboflavin and TMG.I highly recommend the methylated forms of the vitamins as they don't require as much "transformation", and to get down to basics, are "ready to use" by the body. Whether it is because of aging or a genetic deficiency, some of us don't have the essential particles necessary to convert the vitamins we take in to the form that can actually be used. These vitamins bypass that process so they can get right to work.My homocysteine went from too high to low normal after only 3 months taking regular B6, B12, and folic acid. If I had had these particular vitamins, I imagine it could have been even faster than that!I recommend this product for anyone wishing to bring down those homocysteine levels and just for general health and energy metabolism.
