If you buy in the UK this is not a problem. The retailer is responsible for sorting any issues out - Google Consumer Rights Act. Also if you buy by credit card you have additional rights. Better dealing with someone local than a foreign manufacturer. But - these are great watches - I have a Mako 2 - super tough and reliable - who cares about a guarantee. I put mine on a blue nato with red stitching - looks awesome. I also have a Datejust 41 - comes with a 5 year guarantee - at a price but they never go wrong. So get an Orient Mako and enjoy it.
