Could not Tether so will try this
Bought this item to take on holiday in a few weeks. I had purchased a 3 Data Sim which I had in my smartphone but while in Spain I found out that the 3 network would not allow tethering although it did back home. It worked fine in the mobile but was hoping to connect my iPad to it via the phone. I contacted Three on return who confirmed that tethering was not allowed but when asked if a mifi would be ok they said it would. Hence why i hve purchased this product. It is very easy to set up. Inserted SIM in an adapter as it requires a full size SIM and switched on and all worked fine. Will be going to Spain again next week so will update my review with how it faired on my return.UPDATE: Just back from Menorca having tried out this product. At first could not grt to work then discovered one has to access device and enable roaming. I assume I could have done this before leaving home. Once activated it worked perfectly. Was able to connect my iPad and both Windows Phones to it. My data Sim was 4G but doubt that there is much coverage, if any, where I was staying. This is why I did not bother purchasing a 4G compatible unit. So this now proves that a 3 network data SIM will not allow tethering via mobile handset but will allow access to numerous devices when put in this personal mifi device. Would recommend. Was able to purchase a 12GB data SIM online for approx £23 with 12 months to use - excellent value and cheap way of using data until the European roaming charges are dropped and data can be used within contract.

Simple solution to Lengthy Contracts
I'm impressed with this little gadget. I shall be moving soon and I have cancelled my broadband contract and so I thought I would give this a try. I didn't expect much from it but I am surprised. I have used a dongle in the past but this is far better. I use it with my tablet and it was easy to install it on my large laptop and it works well. My phone also picks it up. I'm using Vodafone at present, purely because where I currently live there's no other network that I can pick up as it's rural. But once I move I will have more choice. It's about the size of a bar of soap, very light and can easily be taken out and about. It's easy to charge with my phone charger. The only drawback is that the battery life isn't brilliant and could be better. I get about 3 days out of it and that's with turning it off when not in use, just a press of a button. I'm not a heavy user and If it was in constant use, it would run down quicker. It doesn't take long to charge though and could be left plugged in I should think. All in all I'm very pleased and it's enabled me to get out of costly monthly Contracts and I will continue using it when I move. I hate being shackled to lengthy contracts and I can now use PAYG and be in control of what I'm using. This is going to save me a fortune over the year.

I found the product very useful and it does what is says on the tin
I bought this product because I was travelling to Africa. I wanted a cheaper and hassle-free way of connecting the Wi-Fi. I found the product very useful and it does what is says on the tin. I tested the product before I left the UK. I am giving it a four star because I couldn’t connect according to the instructions on the leaflet, I am not that techy. However, I contacted Huawei UK and they were very helpful, it was another route of connection but easy if you know how. In essence, there are different ways of skin a cat.For me, once I passed the setting up stage; it’s a doddle to use.I continue to use the product in the UK rather than using hotspots, because it is secure. I find it very handy. I do recommend it.

Perfect for use abroad
Bought this item to be able to use my phone, iPad and MacBook abroad without needing to mortgage the farm for data roaming charges. This little beauty did the job perfectly. In Portugal, called into a Vodafone office, paid €20 for 5gb of data, inserted the SIM, plugged the USB cable into my MacBook, the installer automatically configured the APN etc, and off to go.Good quality, multiple device 3G connections wherever I went. So simple and even compared to a Euro addon for my phone (which doesn't allow tethering of iPads and PCs) it saved me at least the cost of the device over the 14 days.I probably could have bought less data and saved more, but why save a few Euros when I was able to use my devices so cheaply without a second thought.More to save on every future trip. Perfect!

Brilliant item.
Bought as a last minute item for a holiday. Had to keep in touch because a family member was ill.We knew we had limited Wifi in our hotel but wanted to be in touch all the time. This was the perfect thing to buy, worked as described. connected 2 phone and kindles. we put in a 20 gig card and in 12 days only used 4.2 . brilliant for face book, whatsapp emails etc, bought and down loaded books but didn't down load films or anything.Easy to set up and use, battery lasted 6 or more hours as descibed, easy to recharge or even use a solar charger when out and about. would highly recommed it.

Unfortunately, my device isn't SIM free as stated... Please help me unlock to Three
Unfortunately, my device isn't SIM free as stated, it's locked to EE network, so the title is misleading and should be changed. Since I bought it, I have not used my device, save for the free 2GB data pre-loaded to the SIM. It's done me a lot of good. And by a lot of good I mean, none. EE shows great coverage in my area but the downloading was achingly slow... I also had a look at the pay plans... not good deals. You'll be offline sooner than on it, bad value for money... I had hoped to be able to insert a SIM card from a network of my choosing, which the ad for this product led me to believe I could do, however when I do insert another network sim a webpage pops up saying I need an unlock code.Ideally, I would like to use the 3 network on my device. I wonder if anyone can help me with what to do because I've paid for this shiny new device and I'm literally not using it... because I assumed I would be paying for the device on it's own...By the way, the device itself is nice, light and has a great battery life, but it's little green dot light keeps flashing, which is a nuisance to general peripheral stillness.
