I talked to an assistant at my vet's office explaining that my dog was vomiting substantially undigested food. She asked whether my dog was a fast eater. When I told her my dog speed gulps her food, she told me to try using a "maze" bowl. Some reviews indicated that dogs were chewing up plastic bowls, and I personally avoid using any plastic products. So for me it had to be made out of stainless steel. I am so pleased with this product. It stopped both the speed gulping and the vomiting. It is very sturdy and the non slip design makes it virtually noiseless. However, it is rather shallow and may not be as effective for over 1 1/2 cups.

We had another stainless steel slow eating bowl for our Doberman mix who thinks he’s in a food eating contest every time we feed him (despite the fact that he gets two full meals/day plus tons of snacks/Kongs every day). The other bowl worked fine (it was what I describe as a “donut bowl” - raised in the middle) but it didn’t have anything on the backside of it to grip the floor and would slide around and drive us all nuts. This bowl is much better in my opinion because it sort of has “nooks & crannies” that he has to work around to eat. It’s also shallower which is easier to mix his wet and dry food in and most importantly, it has silicone grippy material on the back side so it doesn’t slide and bang around on the tile floor. It’s way easier to clean and is even dishwasher safe! It appears to be solidly built and in the month or so that we’ve used it (2x/day) it still looks brand new. I would recommend this to anyone looking to slow down a canine who is a speed eater.

I have two very excitable puppies who love to chew and eat food fast. We wanted bowls that were easy to clean, durable, and less likely to spread toxins or collect bacteria. These are amazing, we have had them for over six months and they have held up well, the are so easy to clean and really do help slow down the puppies. My pups are 50 and 55 pounds and I would recommend if you are feeding them over 2 cups per meal then to find a bowl that's bigger in size. After 2 cups the slow-feeder portion of the bowl doesn't really work anymore but if you don't mind that then I definitely say purchase! Also I wet feed my dogs and will always wet feed them, I found that when using the hot water to soften the food, I really think the material of the bowl helped keep the food warm for them. I loved that, the idea of my dogs eating cold pebbles just didn't sit right with me, they should have warm food every meal!

I got the paw shaped bowl. It’s a great quality and I loved being able to put it in the dishwasher. However, it advertises that it can hold 2.5-4cups of dog food. My dog usually takes 3cups and although it technically fit, it didn’t not comfortably fit. Not sure how you could use it for 4cup. Also, sometimes got kibble stuck in the edges. I think it would be great if the edges flared out just a little bit.

Purchased this for our 5 month old female puppy. It is an excellent product! Love that I finally found a metal slow feeder bowl that's a little different from others I viewed. This has definately slowed her down at feeding time which means no more gulping and then throwing up. This bowl is easy to clean. This has been a wonder purchase for our puppy.

The quality of material and the speed at which my dog slowed down her eating is better than I expected. Nice wide bowl, with good weight. The rubber on the base goes around the entire perimeter, not just in 4 or 6 little spots. so the bowl does not move around much at all.The only downside with the bowl being wide based, it is pretty shallow.Overall I am very happy with the purchase

The bowl its self is fine, rubber on bottom so doesn’t slide easy to wash. It does not slow the eating down. Its to easy for dog to get food. Don’t recommend if your wanting to slow down dogs eating.

Great bowl. Got a good weight to it, not flimsy. The "obstacles" are stamped and curved, not sharp. Easy to clean and food bits don't get stuck. The rubber bottom keeps it from sliding around. The "obstacles" are not very tall, so it might not be as effective for dogs with more pointed snout. For my newfies, it's perfect. Overall, very happy with it.

I was looking at ceramic slow feeders and found this one. I ordered it because my English Bulldog was using a plastic one which was becoming less and less hygienic, and he was tossing around after he finished eating. He can still move this one but it is much heavier. It still slows him down and is much easier to keep clean. However if your dog eats more than one cup the “bumps” are only one cup deep so any more than that they will be able to consume fairy rapidly. Others have said the rubber ring has come off I’ve used this for a week now and the rubber is still well attached. I would recommend this but only if your feeding one cup at a time.

I've been trying to find a stainless steel slow feeder, and I decided to bite the bullet and invest. The price was higher than I would have liked, but if I got what I expected it would have been worth it. It is not a slow feeder bowl. The paw prints hardly come up from the bottom of the bowl and doesn't at as a deterrent for hungry dogs at all. Not as advertised,

But the depth of the slow gaps is not deep enough..so my dog is still eating fast
