An interesting view of the “technicolor Mutant militia” from the other side of the hill
This volume reprints the incarnation of the X-Men Legacy title from 2012, starring the mutant formerly known as Legion (“Stop calling me Legion”) and tells the story of his struggle with his inner demons (literally) while trying to live up to his late father’s expectations of him, and become a hero, despite the best efforts of the Lycranauts of the X-Men to interfere, egged on by a mysterious character who manifests as a pair of disembodied eyeballs, and who, it turns out, is related to the new X-Man Blindfold, in a rather strange way, and whose inner demons also put up a struggle with David (“Stop calling me Legion”) Haller. Eventually, stuff is resolved, new pathways and possibilities are opened, and we get a different perspective on Charles Xavier and his legacy. This is an excellently written story, and though the style of artwork is not my favourite, it does tell the story very well.
