Though it may be one of the most respected, recommended, and beloved book series of all time, Lord of the Rings is that good. Having just finished the last chapter today while tears slowly rolled down my face, I hadn’t realised just how much I enjoyed the series until I didn’t have any more of it to read. Please push past the sheer length of the books, do not let that lead you astray. It only makes you more appreciative of the fact that it is so vast, because when you do read it all and ultimately finish the books, you will only wish to travel to Middle Earth one more time.The story of the ring bearer and his fellowship exceeded all of my expectations. Having watched the films a fair few times, I loved Lord of the Rings anyway, but now I love it even more. The writing is captivating, imaginative, and well-thought-out. Tolkien’s attention to detail and description of the world of Middle Earth and all those that inhabit it is only wavered by the lack of imagination that YOU may have. Please be taken away by this book, because that’s when it is at its best. I couldn’t tell you how many times I read for hours at a time, completely engrossed within the burning and seething plains of Mordor, or the wonderfully sculpted sights of Rivendell. Late into the night or through afternoons and evenings time would fly as I continued to explore and revel in the world that Tolkien has created.Every chapter felt great, new, and meaningful. None were too long and none were too short either, everything feels “just right” about these books. I felt happiness, joy, fear, sadness, despair, amusement, excitement, awe, triumph, admiration, and about everything else in between. Hours of my life that shall never be thought as wasted, and neither will you consider them wasted either.

I’m a big fan of big paperbacks. Call me nostalgic, I can’t help it; theres something about sitting quietly with a great big, glorious paperback in your hands, lazily reading away.The books need no comment. You know what’s on offer. It’s the medium that really interested me, and it didn’t disappoint. Buy it, now!

Came in very good quality and completely undamaged. However just know that it does indeed come as one full 1000+ page book (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King).It probably says this somewhere in the description but I must have not seen it if it was there so just letting people know.

This book is great quality for the price. Buy this if you would like to read the Lord of the Rings but do not have a particular large budget. Came in perfect condition, with no complaints. This is perfect for those who would like to further indulge in the Tolkien series beyond the movies. As someone who had only seen the movies, the book opened me up to new things which were left out in the movie so it is certainly a book to read for those Lord of the Rings fans. One thing is that the pages are quite thin so they can be torn if not dealt with care, however I have not torn my copy of this book.

The book itself is really beautiful; it's simple yet really interesting. On the insides you get two maps - one of Middle-Earth, one of Rohan and Condor. They have a good quality/resolution. There are two flap covers - one briefly tells the story of the ring, the other one tells us a little bit about Tolkien. I really like the overall look of the book and it's insides.Now to the actual story: The book contains all three books (The fellowship of the ring, the two towers, the return of the king) aswell as appendices like calendars, family trees, writing and spelling,...All in all, the book contains everything you need to have a good time.The quality of the book is very good, although The pages are really thin. If you don't like thin paper, don't get this one; if you do, this is exactly what you've been looking for.

If you haven't read it yet, then get it. The films are a true masterpiece in movie form, but the books take that notion, throw a basket of Shire picked Apples on it, cover it in a Mithril Shirt and cover it in shadow. The three in one edition even though its still the same story, is how it was originally intended to be read, and in truth, how I prefer tk watch the films (yes in one sitting - extended of course). Great as a past time that will last you a while!

I admit I watched the films long before I read the book and while both are totally different I think they are both excellent and I can see why the film was different cos it would have been slow paced and kinda boring ANYWAY. This book is legendary and rightly so it is an epic epic adventure about some hobbits who go and do some awesome, scary, brave, heroic, and tiring stuff.It is written very well with the occasional nonsensical waffling but other than that it is brilliant and the other random thing is the random bursting into song the characters seem to do which is a little bit hard to read because you don't know the tune, other than that the characters are awesome and the setting are Unimaginably ancient and large and beautiful and mysterious. the plot is gripping and exciting if somewhat ploddy to begin with but brilliant

Ya lo había leído pero quería volver a leerlo en inglés por ello lo compré de segunda mano y la verdad muy contento porque vino en muy buenas condiciones.

September 2009... preis war ein richtiger Kracher, 6 euro mit Lagerschaden, minimal aus einem buchladen, Design perfekt schöner, dicker, seidenmatter, glatter und roter Karton, Schriftgrösse super, teilweise 15 - 20 worte pro zeile nicht nur er es sie ihn und ab und zu ja und nein, 10 oder mehr worte haben meistens mehr Buchstaben und das hilft extrem beim Lesefluss, Umfang ist klar gigantisch, und vor allem es ist perfekt geschrieben...es ging mir wie Sam im Film ... am Ende ... Grinsen im Gesicht, und der eine oder andere Lacher war von da an zu hören in der Folge ... Viel Spass dabei wünsche ich Euch ...
