M50 Model are "on ear" and not "over-ear" unless ears are tiny...
Sound reproduction:Bass is not amplified relative to treble on these headphones i.e. the frequency response seems perfectly balanced. This is exemplified by tracks such as Kanye West's "no church in the wild". This track sounds clean and crisp on these headphones while it can sound muddy on headphones with extended / extra bass. If you're looking for "extra bass" headphones (why would you?) then maybe you should give these a skip. The sound from these is all about clarity. You will be surprised to hear scratches on vinyl samples and band members coughing etc. where you haven't noticed them before.Construction:They're relatively heavy at 280 g. The padding is very soft and comfortable. These are "on ear" and not "over-ear" as stated on the box unless you have tiny ears.Other:The cable has standard 3.5mm jack plugs and so can be replaced with a standard headset cable that includes a mic.Summary:True reproduction of all types of music. Effective passive noise cancelling. At under £50 the value is outstanding.

Excellent build quality and looks and while exhibiting excellent dynamics the sound is lacking in bass
These have excellent build quality, weighty (not heavy) and usual weak points are metal; head band, attachment to ear-cups. The detachable cable is a big plus for me. The ear-cups were very comfortable, super-isolating and the headphones stayed solidly on my head with the headband fitting comfortably and snugly. The supplied cable felt sturdy enough and had ample length. No complaints about build quality, looks, or problem in usage. However, the sound, for my ears at least is sibilant and weak in the bass. I have my old (falling-apart due to mostly plastic construction) Philips SHN9500 to compare against. The philips have a smooth high-end and presence and defined low-end. Sadly, while the dynamics of the sound are excellent in the M-Audio M50, the tone of the sound is not something I would enjoy listening to long-term.

Good build quality
Pros: Good build quality. Comfortable. Detailed sound. Detachable cable. Look good.Cons: Bass shy. Tinny sound. Harsh upper frequencies.Even with eq adjustment to maximum bass, these phones are still bass shy and cold sounding. I didn't expect huge bass, nor do I want or like it. But some bass would be nice.I don't like or recommend these, i'm sending them back

Good build quality
Pleasantly surprised with these headphones, given their price point. Good build quality, nice flat sound, ideal for their purpose. Nice one.

Awesome built quality, decent sound
Very high quality for the price. The sound is fine, it has a defined bass which is not overwhealming, but it is a bit on the treble side, too much treble for my taste.

Bad Sounding Headphones - Poorly made!
Terrible sound, the bass is rubbish, one headphone falls off all the time and you have to mess about putting it back on; the thin plastic cover over the sponge earpiece flakes off causing a mess.
