The story:Purchased this for use with my Tefal Actifry FZ710840 1Kg/4 portions for more delicate morsels, as the paddle has a tendency to pulverise these food stuffs to oblivion ÜThe product:Measuring C23cmxH5.5cm for me as a single household this is an adequate size. Robust and well made. So far I’ve used it for making Bataka vada (Lemon and Coriander Potato Balls). They have come out exceedingly well i.e. exactly as they’re supposed to.I’ve also used it for chips; in my opinion, they fare much better than throwing them directly into the pan; nice and crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside.The verdict:Expensive for what it is, but cheaper on Amazon than other online retailers at time of writing. Bought this for use with the Actifry 1kg model - the black fryer with 2 green buttons and a smiley face (which seems to have either FZxx or AL80xx number)Assembled as instructions and found that the black 'lifting handle' was too tall to allow the lid to close. Rather than send it back I simply took a hacksaw and cut about 10mm off the top. Now it fits and works fine. Okay not ideal - but it works just fine...Gave the fry basket 5 stars as am impressed with the results. Chicken goujons, potato croquettes and breaded mushrooms cook brilliantly.The food items keep all their coatings and they sit in the tray which moves round.The Tefal branded packaging on the snacking grid unit i received gives a model no 'XA701171' , says suitable for the FZ75, AH90, AH95, AW95 Actifry Express, Actifry Express XL and Actifry Family models. So upon reflection it looks like I may have incorrectly identified my fryer modelThere is more info on Tefal models and grids here [...]

I know a lot of people are having difficulty fitting this to their Actifry. It just clicks into my Actifry Original bought in 2019.

Best gadget I have bought for some time. Has doubled the use of my actifry. Is saving me the cost of heating my oven prior to cocking some items. So far I have cooked: fish fingers, spring rolls,chicken pieces, cocktail sausage rolls,bacon, prices of frozen fish with chips. Small microwaveable pizza, (cut in half). It's fantastic for frangible items like fish fingers. Only problem is some items can stick to the mesh. I use prices of non stick kitchen foil under the items that can stick, looking forward to expanding its use.

Foolishly didn't read all reviews. I bought for FZ740840 "Actifry Original" (as it says it would fit all FZ models) and it doesn't fit because this model has the big cone in the middle of the pan. There goes the dream of easy fish and chips in the Actifry...It looks like it would work without the pan in place... But REALLY??!! Cooking without the pan??!! That's just going to get seriously messy!!!ALSO!!! Be careful if you try and remove the handle from the basket once it has clicked into place, the clips have broken off on mine when I tried to remove the handle to send it back, so can't really send it back... Can I??? WELL CAN I???

If you're cooking/heating more delicate items they don't get squashed or trapped in the paddle. Note that you need to turn the food over once during cooking, but it's less often than having to clear the paddle when you hear the fryer making a strange noise due to food getting trapped! SAFETY WARNING - THIS GETS VERY HOT. If you touch it without using a tea-towel or mitt you will get burnt. It does show an image on the box that you need to use something to handle it when it's hot, but some of us don't look at the packaging! Happy with the item. (NOTE: I HAVE AN ORIGINAL ACTIFRY 1KG)Edit: The handle is broken and makes the snacking mesh very difficult to use. I'm having problems getting a replacement even though the seller has promised to send one. The reason he has given is that it was sent to the wrong address and sent back. When I enquired about the tracking reference I was not given one so I could check the journey of the replacement. The address he said he had for me was missing the first line of the address; ie, the house number and street name!I'm beginning to wonder if the seller really intends on sending a replacement or is just fobbing me off. I will give an update as I have now asked again for a tracking reference and have said I would like a refund if he cannot give a replacement (which was the question by the seller - do I want a replacement or a refund).Update 28/4/21 - I submitted my address to the seller 3 days ago and have not had any acknowledgement. Still waiting for a replacement. Could this be a matter for Trading Standards??Update 29/4/21 - seller has *again* apologised that there was a problem with my order and I suppose I'll be having to wait to see if he decides to send out a replacement. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS ITEM, DON'T HESITATE TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK. My trust in this seller is down to zero now.Update 1/5/21 - After much to-ing and fro-ing I finally received a replacement which was sent out to me with a tracking reference!! Considering the seller originally assured me on 1st April that he would give me a replacement, it has taken a whole month. The moral of the story is be persistent and don't let sellers rob you of your statutory rights.

Purchased this product as an additional accessory to my Tefal Actifry. It gives another option on cooking and is more economic to use than using the main oven for a number of items.
