Very Helpful for Lviv (didn't go anywhere else)
Excellent - General information re Ukraine - money, transport etc. Re towns, I used it for Lviv only. The self guided tour was very good and I learned more than some people who went on paid for organised tours. The section on Jewish Lviv was surprisingly comprehensive. The maps were good - though one criticism, it would have been a lot easier if the places in the tour had been given grid references for the maps. It was much better than the book I bought which was just about Lviv. It was no real help at all. I was very impressed w the Lonley planet Guide.

Perfect
Excellent book. Lonely planet books are the best for your trips. Could not recommend them more.

It was good and useful, but some lacking details...
It doesn't cover the political trouble nor how to travel to keep safe and knowledgeable about it. It also said kiev was bilingual between ukraine and english. It was more like bilingual between russian and ukrainian, with some people speaking some english.

Kiev - March 2016
I bought the most up-to-date guide for a visit to Kiev last week and it was very disappointing. Politically, it was way out of date, with no mention of the problems of winter 2013 (Dignity Revolution) and advise for travel in Crimea was risable. Also no mention of rampant inflation - you quoted an exchange rate ot 13 / £1 whereas it was 38uar. Also, details and maps in Kiev were muddily and hard to follow. I have used Lonely Planet many times before, happily, but this one is not a good experience.

Good for pranking Russians
Gave this to my Russian boss for her leaving present, with post-it notes on the Crimea page. Well worth the price for the look on her face. 11/10.
