does the job...
nice, clear to read/follow even with my old eyes...i have given 5 for accuracy as it reads much the same as the weather reports, the wind readings are hard to get exact but give a very good indication of strength...set up was a breeze, instructions are good and if it lasts as long as my last station (until i dropped a speaker on the screen) it will be sat here for many years, too soon to talk of battery life but my last station suggested a battery life of around 3 months and i found i could get a good year out of them so hoping for similar with this one.UPDATE:now nearly 5 years of use, decent batteries give me about a year of use, wind settings are/ can be 'bad' but take note of actual speeds and you can work it out (i see one review said his speed would be 10X less than actual)...unfortunately i am starting to have small problems, it loses connection with the sensor for a few minutes now and then, my own fault as i gave it the annual clean up so may be time for a new one and pretty certain i would buy the same again.

Excellent weather station
I'm delighted with it. Very easy to install. I can't go past it without checking all the info. I bought it to replace an old one that packed up and I was lost while waiting for the Bresser to turn up. It's well made. I like the weathervane. The panel has a good back light, but I wish it would stay on a bit longer so I could check out all the stuff being displayed, without having to push the button again. The display is not that easy to read without the back light. But, overall it's good and deserves four stars.

Great item
Great price erected in 30 mins all good.Been running this item for a week now and all appears to be well. Only small item is that in my living room it is quite dark so reading the display can be problimatic and have to use the backlit display more often. Have ordered anither based station this time in colour and backlit to replace the LCD one in the living room, this one moved to bedroom where its working well as more natural light. Again, great delivery and product quality.

Replacement for my 8 year old one
Which turns out to be a vest improvement, even though it was over £30 less.Setting up was as simple as simple can be. The comprehensive instructions were easy to follow and understand - quite novel in these days of bad translations - and the unit was out the box and set up in just a couple of minutesIn use it is both easy to read/understand and very accurate. It shows all you could possibly need, even to the extent of giving the high and low readings at a touch of a button. Both units need 3 x AA batteries each and suggest you use good quality ones - for me it is always Duracell. The batteries should last for ages (possibly 2/3/4 years) if my experience of these weather stations is anything to go by.All in all, so far I am extremely impressed and can happily recommend it.

BRESSER weather station
I have had this unit for a few months now and it works perfectly, very reliable and accurate, well worth the money. Easy to install and you can send the information to the Internet to monitor the weather for both you or others to see to compare results in the locality.

Good, but with one major flaw
I've had the unit for quite a while now and felt thatnow was a fair time to review the product.Overall it's a good product, fairly accurate when measured against known data, e.g. air pressure and indoor / outdoor temperatures. However, it's one major flaw is that of the wind speed indicator. My outdoor unit is 5 metres above ground on a pole. Even when the wind speed at ground level is so strong as to almost blow me over the wind speed indicator, even when set to "gust" showed just 5.5 mph! It's been very windy recently with debris blowing down the street yet the wind speed indicator showed a maximum of 3.0 mph. What I've learnt to do is to multiply the indicated windspeed by X10 and this will be significantly more accuate than the actual indicated windspeed. Not totally accurate but significantly more accurate. When observing the three wind speed cups spinning at a fair rate of knots it's difficult to believe that they could spin any faster regardless of the actual wind speed. A software fix by the manufacturer to multiply the indicated wind speed by 10 times would make the device infinitely more accurate than it currently is. The other thing I've realised is to only use top quality batteries especially for the outdoor unit. Decent quality branded batteries last about three months in the outdoor unit but top of the range batteries from the same well known manufacturer lasted almost a year. Overall, a good device but with that annoying one major flaw.

A great bit of kit but READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
Most poor reviews are entirely due to not reading the instructions. The station is an accurate and brilliant little machine. The pressure, humidity, rainfall and temperature pretty much agree exactly with the BBC measurements all the time, and both units seem really well made and are good to look at. Unfortunately I don't have the option to put the sensor in the middle of a field to ensure wind speed and direction are accurate, but it does its best with direction generally being in the right quarter of the compass. Against a wall or fence, within 50 metres of ANY obstruction will obviously affect this, but you can hardly lower the score when it's not the machines fault! It also has other functions not even mentioned in the description! The forecasting function is good fun and causes some humorous discussions in our house! Get one, have a laugh, and learn stuff! Even gave it 5 stars for warmth??!
