basic weather station, works good.
This is a basic weather station, bought to observe temps in protected outside garden in Winter. It works fine for that. A couple of gripes: if used in harsh Winter regions, lithium batteries must be used as opposed to alkaline batteries which don't perform well in low temps. Lithiums are way more expensive than alkalines. Also, if using AC adapter, battery compartment cover cannot be put back in place due to right angle plug of adapter which is inserted in same compartment. Sort of an odd design, if you ask me. Pull out stand is cheap and flimsy, doesn't really support display unit that well, making it prone to fall over if nudged slightly. Might be better to hang it on wall or come up with better support of your own. Other than those pet peeves, display is easy to read from a distance, seems to give accurate readings so far, and is easy to set up. We'll see how long it lasts.

Keeps you up to date
I used this to replace a display provided by my cable company when I dropped them. When this one arrived, it took little or no time to set it up. My only decision was, Hang it on the wall or prop it on the table? I put it on the table, where the old one had been, and it serves its purpose well. It comes with a sensor that you have to install outside, relatively close to the house. In my case, "install" meant use a twist-tie and hang it from the bottom of a chair out on the porch, directly out the window next to the display unit -- probably 3 ft. The sensor requires batteries. But the display unit runs on electricity. It takes batteries as a backup. The manufacturer strongly suggests relying on electric power as the primary source. We don't get too many power outages where I live. If you do, the batteries will keep it running. After I installed the sensor, I came back into the house and noticed that the temperature reading looked totally wrong. But minute by minute, I watched it adjust to the temperature outside, comparing the readout to what was on my phone. After a few minutes, they matched perfectly. I like this device better than the one I had before, and recommend it. The display is bright, bold, and colorful and tells you anything you want to know about the weather in your immediate area (rather than at the local airport).

The only one that I have seen that allows you to "calibrate" the data.
Accu-rite makes good stuff. The last weather station was Accu-rite, and was still working when I replaced it.Pros..Adjustable, but only by full degrees. !/10 degree would have been better. The only problem is finding a local weather source to set it to. I have used several sources over the years, and none of them ever match. Being able to adjust it to match a known source is helpful, but what if the source is not accurate? Temp, humidity, can be adjusted, as can baro. The barometer seems to be right on the money. My reference is an Oakton aneroid baro with temp correction and they are always a perfect match.Cons..No seconds display. I have all kinds of radio controlled clocks, so if I need to know the exact time, I can use them. The weather predictor thing is laughable. In the middle of a long drought, it showed rain every day for a month. They say it "learns". How does it learn when it doesn't know if its raining or not?The display is color, and looks cool. It has an auto dim feature that will turn the brightness down at 6(?) PM, then back up in the morning. As with all multi layer displays, it is not easily viewed at all angles. It has a battery backup so if the power fails, the display will be blank unless you push the button. Time keeping and weather will be saved. In all, its a good purchase, but not perfect.

Amazing!
Amazing weather station, easy to set up and very accurate. I bought this one because it gives you the dew point and not just the relative humidity. It doesn't take up a lot of space and you can use the stand or hang it. Others have complained about the stand but it works well. It's more accurate than the talking weather heads on TV. Won't hesitate to buy other Acu-Rite products

2 out of 3 functions do not work
The thermometer is a nice size and has an easy to read display. The outdoor temperature is accurate, however the indoor temperature is not. Also the atomic clock does not work and unless there are batteries in the unit, every time the power goes off, the clock reset itself to January 1. I'm taking off one star for each function that does not work. And I still think I'm rating it too high.

Easy to follow set up instructions
Somewhat to my surprise, I am impressed with the instructional manual that came with this unit. It seems that most inexpensive electronics these days come with a folded instruction sheet written in mini-type and difficult to follow through the folds in the correct sequence. This unit came with a relatively pamphlet style instruction manual. It is east to read and gives simple, easy to follow instructions. I usually leave set-up of electronics to my wife, who has much more patience than I for bad instructions. I set up this unit myself with no difficulty at all. As an aside, the unit seems to operate correctly.
