Q: Is this regulator suitable for attaching to a spray gun for altering spraying pressure?

Yes it will work well with a paint spray gun. I use it on my spray gun , but you will need a compresser of at least 200 litres for paint spraying.

Q: What's the max input pressure that this can take?

Have it hooked up to a reasonable size compressor.it runs my rattler to take tyres of. Put this in line an take the pressure down to nowt plus...Worth the money.sorry I can't give you figures.
