No I think this is for the telecaster type guitar

Hi , it's a two wire pickup , white - hot and black - earth . It's a straight swap for a standard telecaster PUP . Hope this helps .

Sounds like you need to check your connections in the control cavity. A solder could have come away. The pickup should be connected to both the switch and one of the pots. If you are not sure or confident, take it to a shop and they will check the wiring. If you soldered it yourself, you'll know what to look for. If you didn't, give it to whomever did the job for you and get them to repair it. Never had an issue with my pickup so expect it's a wiring thing.

Q: Do you need a 500k pot??

Hi , as this is a single coil pickup , you generally use a 250k pot . You can use a 500k pot if you choose and the pickup will sound brighter , but the general rule of thumb is 250k for single coil for a warmer sound . Hope this helps .
