Value
Can't fault it, easy to use, nothing wrong with the sound and loudness unless for maybe senior people or with hearing difficulties so don't know why reviews suggest otherwise, no speaker but I don't use it as my main phone and those that do and use the speaker should have checked before they purchased it, value for money as well.

Survives throwing at wall
Ok so my son was diagnosed with Agressive bone cancer In march. He’s been through so much since then including total amputation of his whole leg and more chemo until Christmas. He’s only 21. My mum phones me every night to ask about him. And to cry. I know she’s worried but the calls are not good. I’m worried sick too. I was at my wits end tonight when she called to say my aunty was upset with me for not updating her in the last five days. I’m not an agressive person at all but I’ve had enough. I threw the phone at the wall. It survived. I took it on the patio and threw it at the wall and it cracked a bit. I then took a hammer to the phone and although I don’t think it will work anymore it is still in one piece. This is an amazing phone. I would definitely buy another one. But not for a bit.

Good value pricewise but the manual could be better.
I ordered these twin Panasonic cordless phones to replace a conventional phone and extension that served us very well for about thirty years until the extension finally packed up. The price was very reasonable but I have to say that I am not particularly impressed with the performance and ease of setting up. I have several issues.Firstly I could not get the phone to work until I discovered - on the very last page of the manual in the Useful Information section - that I had to register a handset to the base unit. If that was crucial to the phone actually working surely that should have been placed early on in the Getting Started section of the manual !Secondly, the ring tone is barely adequate and there appears to be no way of increasing the sound to a level that would be easier for my 76 year old ears to hear.Thirdly, why is is necessary to set up the phonebook on each handset, rather than doing it once on the main handset and it appearing on the extension automatically. On the plus side setting up the phonebook was not difficult, just tedious to have to do it twice.Fourthly, the main reason for buying the new phones was because my wife and I like to be able to phone our family and listen and speak to them at the same time on two phones, as we could with our old system. Whether this is possible or not does not appear to be clearely covered in the manual, but is suggested by having to turn Privacy Mode on if you want to prevent other users joining your conversation with outside callers (page 18). The only time we have so far tried to listen to a caller on the extension phone at the same time it did not work, but that may have been because Privacy Mode was on by default from the factory. I have turned Privacy Mode off and await to see if this will enable us both to listen/speak to a family caller at the same time. I will update this review when that happens.Update 7/3/21 : Privacy Mode is off on the main phone but we still cannot participate in phone calls on the extension. It does not appear to be possible to turn Privacy Mode off on the extension phone, so we are at a loss at the moment as to how to participate in conversations on the extension while the main phone is in use.Update 14/3/21 : I've finally discovered what the problem was in not being able to listen in and participate on the main phone and extension at the same time. The extension phone was not activated at all as it too has to be registered to the base unit ! It appears that all handsets in the system have to be registered to the base unit, giving them different numbers to differentiate each. However, nowhere in the manual does it say that and only on page 29 does it state that a handset must be registered to the base unit, which I naively took to be the main one which actually sits in the base unit.I believe now that I have finally got the phones set up correctly and that they will function in the way we hoped when we bought the package. My one remaining gripe is that the manual ieaves a lot to be desired in clarity and ease of setting up !

Excellent Product
This phone set is attractive to look at, compact, nice to handle and easy to use. There is NO answer phone which is just what I wanted. I find the sound quality very good for my purposes. It is just what exactly what I was looking for.

Brilliant value for money
Simple clean lines, easy to connect with clear instructions and user guide. Rechargeable AAA batteries included. Adjustable ringer volume (including off) and adjustable in call volume. It has a very simple base station with small footprint. It has a range of functions that I don't actually want , it is however exactly what I need - I just want a phone that I can answer when it rings. I have the second handset standing quite a long way from the base station and it works very well. I don't want answerphone or dozens of ringtones so this is perfect for my needs. Both units have UK power plugs. If you also have broadband you will need a phone ADSL filter (to remove data interference from the phone call) as this is not included. I have a number of Panasonic products and this is a brand that I am quite happy with. Anyone who says its poor quality is out of touch and if you want to position the phone 3 metres away from the phone socket then you will need an extension. However both the power and phone leads are a reasonable length - probably about the same as any other similar phone. Plug in and it works: setting time and date takes just a few minutes. Don't expect a hands free speaker - it's not on the list of features. In fact don't expect anything that is not listed. Plug the phones in and let them charge up before you start doing anything. And don't forget it's actually two phones for this price. On past experience I would not expect the AAA batteries to last forever, as they become weaker so the performance of the phone will suffer : this goes for any such phone not just these.

Excellent quality phone
This phone is easy to use and does everything I want from a landline telephone handset. My only slight criticism is the, because the screen size is compact, the phone numbers displayed can be a little difficult to read as they are so close together.
