Fit to the settee, easy to do and settee runs well.

Bought these to replace the two front castors on a venerable Parker Knoll reclining chair. One of the front castors had failed and the other had cracks in the metal castor and was about to fail.The old castors came out with a little persuasion (mole grips and screwdriver as a lever). The original metal sleeves were also in a bad way and so had to come out of the wooden frame, this was also satisfyingly easy with the grips.I checked the hole size in the wooden frame using a 10mm drill bit and found them to be exactly 10mm so no need to drill anything and the new sleeves slotted straight in and then hammered in place to secure. The new castors then slotted in easily with a hard push to lock in the retaining ring.All in all very easy and much simpler than I had feared and the chair moves around like new. Will now order two more for the back!

The castor was good quality. But I had to use brute force to remove old one.. When I put the socket in place, the castor wouldnt fit inside, so had to use more brute force, and still unable to remove it, I had to drill another hole, and place the castor on its own straight into the wooden frame of my chair. I hope the wood does`nt split with use. And I hope it lasts. Personally I`m not happy with the way it went in.

Installation looked straightforward but the grips would not hold after hammering them in then fall out after a day of use.
