Great for healing ulcers... This has been very effective at healing two stomach ulcers that I had. I use it in conjunction with Pyloricil which has bismuth in it -- bismuth is a safe ingredient that kills h-pylori , a bacteria that causes ulcers... so the bismuth kills them and then the mastic gum soothes and repairs the lining of the stomach... highly recommended to use this combination together. I've also used marshmallow tea and capsules, slippery elm just chewed as a Kandy (thayers maple is tasty), DGL licorice (caramel flavor is delicious), and bladderwack which is kelp. I was able to wean myself off of a very dangerous ulcer medication and used this combination of remedies as I tapered off it. If you are a blood type O like me, the stomach has higher acid content than other blood types and type O's are prone to ulcers. Luckily with products like this, combined with other natural remedies and sensible eating, ulcers can be a thing of the past. I also follow the blood type diet which has foods that are specific to your blood type ...if you look at the type O recommended food list there are foods that are less acid causing and that are more easily digested by typos I recommend looking into this as well as it it has helped me a great deal with my health. (Eat Right for Your Blood Type Books). Another soothing thing for the stomach is to drink organic marshmallow and fenugreek tea with raw honey. Wee Bee raw honey is the best I've found. I got rid of sugar and use only raw honey to sweeten things. Big difference in my health and lost a lot of weight removing sugar, wheat and eating mostly organic foods.

I began taking mastic about a month ago, as soon as I received it from Amazon. I thought I had done plenty of research, but there was one vital piece of information I had missed. It's in the same family as cashews and poison ivy, both of which I'm allergic to and especially to poison ivy. Twice I have had emergency situations when I developed systemic poison ivy, at least once through breathing in the smoke when someone was burning it. Since then, my reactions are serious. I took the mastic gum for ten days before I admitted that my skin rash (on scalp and torso) was related to the mastic. I found the warnings finally (not on the package, unfortunately) that if you experience tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, hives, or other skin rash to stop immediately. Three weeks later I'm still suffering from the rash, which is serious but at least not life-threatening.I am really disappointed because otherwise the mastic gum was working wonders. However, I'm afraid now to use even a miniscule amount.I don't think there would be a problem if you have minor allergic reactions to poison ivy, but if you have reactions to poison ivy, cashews, even mangoes, then I'd suggest you start slowly and be prepared to stop quickly. Certainly more quickly than I did.

I have taken another brand of mastic gum And it worked amazingly well--I felt awesome. I stopped using that brand after reading reviews on their use of titanium dioxide in the capsules and switched to this brand. After roughly a week I basically feel as if I'm not taking anything when taking this product. My symptoms are certainly not as severe as having an active ulcer, but not nearly as good as with the other brand. I'm not sure if it's this particular bottle, or with the brand overall. Personally, I'll be trying a new brand very soon.

After years of Doctors visits and different medications that did not work this actually did! I am so thankful! It really started to make a difference about 15 days into it but I did notice some relief right away. The dosage is important, I did experiment, the two a day that is recommended worked best for me. Taking more than 2 a day or for longer than 30 days was not helpful for me.

For gut bacterial infections this is numero uno. Sometimes works when other things won't for persistent gutaches. I alternate between this and pepto bismol and use a lot of probiotics to rebuild after using these.
