Buy 1/2 Size Up and Have a Comfortable Experience All Day Long
I ordered 1/2 size up to allow room for socks of different thickness. These boots were a perfect comfy fit right out of the box and ready for adventure in Juneau, Alaska. I never got blisters or even irritated skin. I walked on mossy rocks, muddy trails, rocky trails and cool beaches. These boots have great grip and supported my ankles on uneven terrain. I tested the waterproof aspect and I can say they keep the water out, but I will confess it's almost too much waterproofing if there is such a thing. My feet sometimes got clammy, so I would recommend a better moisture wicking sock perhaps. I am going to try that on my next outside adventure in Olympic National Park. I am 100% satisfied and would buy again maybe in the low shoe style next.

Perfect Comfortable Supportive Fit
I 'only' wear Merrell hikers because I am a difficult fit. I am a long-time mountain hiker. I've worn Merrell for about 30 years. They continue to offer great, well-made shoes. I don't believe in having to 'wear in' your shoes. They should fit properly right from the first day. The fit is perfect, I love that I can get many varieties in the Wide Width. Pricing is not the cheapest, but it's worth to spend a few extra dollars to get a good shoe. That being said, they are also not the most expensive. You can get a great shoe for the money.

Super comfortable!
Excellent boots for hiking. Extremely comfortable and sturdy. I don't think they are really "waterproof" but they do resist water in small amounts -- not for walking through streams, etc. I suggest going to the larger size if you're indecisive. They are roomy and have a good sized toe-box, but if you want to thicken up on socks, size it up. You can always cinch down when you tie it to get a tighter fit. I bought a pair of low-tops, too.

Great fit
I hike about 100 miles a month. I have bunions. So I am very particular about the shoes I wear. These boots had NO break in time. They were comfortable from the moment I put them on. I have had them for over 16 months and they are still in great shape and still very comfortable. I just bought another pair on Prime day.

Perfect fit but bad chemical odor
I wear a C width in women's shoes and these feel snug but fit well. Initially, I thought hiking shoes are supposed to feel tight in the toe box to minimize injury, so I bought a different brand of hiking boots that turned out to be much too small and narrow. My feet blistered and hurt at the end of every hike! I later realized that a hiking shoe's fit should be snug but still conform to the shape of your foot; it definitely shouldn't be too tight or shape your foot in an unnatural way. After much research I learned that the Merrell Moab 3 is known to have a wide toe box and fits comfortably for people with wider feet. The standard width fits a B ot C and the wide fits a D. I also chose the "Mid" model to stabilize my weak ankles. I haven't taken them out on the trail yet but everything checks out and these hiking shoes look very promising.I did dock a star for the bad chemical odor coming from the shoes. Hopefully the smell will dissipate in a few days. It does make me think once again that the quality of the materials isn't all that great. With this kind of odor the leather uppers are definitely not genuine leather.

Best shoes ever
I bought the boots for an Iceland trip in June. The best preparation I have done. We ran into two days of heavy rain and strong wind, climbing rocky terrain, shopping on the regular street, long walk every day. I was concerned at first because I didn’t have time to break in but so please to find that it is the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. The toe box is wide enough for the large bunion and the support is just right. The waterproof must be decent because my feet were dry even in the down pouring rain. I bought the regular width at size 7.5. and now I have to buy for my family.

Great shoes for hiking and more! All weather, year round shoes!
Love these shoes. This is the second pair I bought. I hike with my dogs nearly daily and they work great in all types of terrain and weather. I wear them year round and I live in the Midwest where summers are hot and humid and winters are very cold and snowy. The have good traction. They give my foot the support it needs, even though I am flat footed. The color is neutral and works well with any active outfit I put on. I would like to wear them everywhere, but in my business they are probably not work appropriate. I ordered my regular size and they fit perfectly. They are light weight, but yet of high quality. My last pair lasted me about 5 years.

Comfy Boot and Looking Cute
Not a huge hiker (prefer a manicured path) but will say that these are extremely comfortable during the first wear yesterday in the woods. Took a while for me to decide which I wanted. I am absolutely happy that I finally have new hiking boots which will motivate me to hike more because not only do I look cute but feel good in the boots!
