This is a hefty bit of kit that helps keep electronics organized while having a small footprint. The adjustable sides allow a phone with any backside attachments or thick cases to be used, and despite a heavier item being on the backside, doesn't tip or topple over if or when another device is removed.I chose this unit over all others because it gave me the number of slots I needed without extra, wasn't made of wood or plastic, which I feard would fail over time, and it was simple/basic. It wasn't this and many other things, it just did this one thing.After purchase, the things I appreciated about it was the fact that it is heavy. I mean, it says aluminum but this is thick aluminum and it has some heft and weight to it. Another aspect of it was the toolless adjustment. Two thumb screw turns and you can adjust each side in or out. Turn them back, and it's locked into position.The arms are padded, as is the bottom to reduce any damage to your devices and thunking when setting anything in the holder or on a table, desk, or stand.

This is a straight ahead low tech (which is always the best tech) product that does what it does well. Comparing to other similar products on the market this has a great deal of mass for the size. It's weighty so this brings solid stability which is what you want for your expensive hardware. I have 2 MacBook pros for different eras. One is less than a year old, the other (my portable beater) is about 10 years old and is still going strong. I purchase the stand that holds 2 devices. The adjustment is very simple with a pair of D - screws that fold out to adjust and back in when finished. I had both adjusted in less than five minutes for a nice snug fit (but not overly so). They both sit perfectly on my desk, one of which I am using in clamshell mode while the other slot serves as a storage system for the old guy which only adds to the overall stability. If you need to, get the double unit. If you need one, get the single unit. Also to note, someone complained about the 'stupid' logo in a previous review. I don't know what they were complaining about as my unit came sans logo. The esthetics are clean and simple. I like everything about this stand and I predict you will as well. Enough said. Recommended!

I had the same problem another reviewer had, two laptops of different thickness. With the thicker one sitting in the bracket, the thinner one would sag and not stay upright. The key is loosening the rings at the base, sandwiching the 1st laptop with it on its end and using a pair of pliers to tighten the rings so the bracket doesn't come loose. Do this for both sides sizing the laptop thickness and tightening. Only 4 stars because I don't like the mechanism and having to use a tool to tighten it (the rings are small and hard to get leverage on with just fingers). We will see how long the brackets stay tight like this.The good: I use a dock through a USB C cable to transmit the laptops to two large screens and I frequently switch between both laptops. This gives me so much more desk space and I can position the ends of the laptops so both ends with the power and USB-C ports are facing me for easy switch overs. The only issue is if the laptops will not wake and I have to take one out and open it to get to the power button. Sturdy base, no worries about the laptops falling over.

I spent a lot of time researching laptop stands and I'm so glad I purchase this one! It's simple, no gawdy branding, adjustable, stable, and functional. It's exactly what I wanted and at a very reasonable price!
