Great converter for older USB keyboards
This is a great converter for older USB keyboards, do note that these converters will not work for 90% of newer keyboards. The adapter comes in a simple plastic bag that's easy enough to open. These are simply plug and play, although some users may need to restart their computer to make this work.

Good Adaptor
Arrived on time minimal packaging easy on environment. However while the adaptor looked like a quality item and connections worked fine USB to PS2. I was unable to get keyboard to function using the adaptor on an existing KVM.Returned the USB/PS2 adaptor item next day the returns and refund works extremely well. That is a positive. I adopted a workaround using existing KVMPS2 connection and OSD on monitor to switch PC units and use the keyboard.Would have preferred if the adaptor worked with KVM.

Didn't work for me
Reading previous reviews there was an indication that this may not work with every motherboard. Didn't work on mine.

Always good to have for a PC emergency
When my USB card on my PC decided to stop working this device let me plug my mouse in to the PS2 port that lives on the motherboard and I was able to get everything up and running again. Worked as expected, the price was right, great little gadget to keep around for emergencies. I must say in the past I've probably thrown a dozen of these in to the bottom of a drawer only to be lost forever, wish I had saved a few now.

Neither of mine worked
I bought one of these to enable me to plug a USB keyboard into the PS/2 console socket on my KVM switch. Although the KVM will happily pass console USB traffic (including the keyboard) through to the selected computer, the unit itself will only respond to keyboard control commands (select input, silence the beep when switching etc) when the commands are received on its PS/2 port. This had always worked fine using my PS/2 keyboard, and one assumes that one of these adaptors should enable the same functionality using a USB keyboard. However, my Lenovo USB keyboard does not power up when plugged in using this adaptor. I tried it in two other computers that had working PS/2 ports, and with three different (tested working) USB keyboards, but no luck. I then initiated a return, and in fairness to StarTech (whom I have used before and will do again because they are usually superb), they dispached another immediately which arrived within a couple of days. This unfortunately behaved in exactly the same way, with the same checks using different computers and keyboards. Either I was sent two dodgy units, or fundamentally this product does not fulfil its intended purpose.

This worked for me on a very old PS/2 Logitech Trackball Mouse
Seeing a lot of reviews where this hasn’t worked I thought I’d add my feedback. As others have said, it needs to be quite an old PS/2 Mouse otherwise with newer USB mice the adapter may not work.It not only worked but allowed me to invoke the BIOS Motherboard option so I can turn the PC on by just moving the trackball - which means I don’t have to dive under the desk to turn it on any more :-)Unfortunately, the similar Keyboard adaptor didn’t work on an old Cooler Master keyboard - at least with Amazon you know it’s worth a go and return if it doesn’t work.
