Released in 1967, Their Satanic Majesties Request is saturated with studio effects, non-traditional instruments, ambient sounds, string arrangements, and percussive devices. "Citadel" foreshadowed the direction toward straight-forward rock the Stones would take. "2000 Light Years from Home," and "She's a Rainbow," capture them in all their psychedelic glory, while "Sing This All Together," "Gomper," and "On with the Show," move from traditional song structure to freeform freakout! 180-gram LP.

I've learned to love this
The pressing I bought was from 1976. It has the original mono mix which sounds FANTASTIC! Personally I prefer it to the stereo versions I've had in the past. As for the record, it has aged much better than one would have thought. The Stones real answer to Sgt. Pepper was Beggar's Banquet which was a rejection of the whole psychedelic vibe that the Beatles had a much better feel for. Still, this record and the singles from the period are quite good IMO. As for the copy I bought, the vinyl was in better shape than the seller graded it which is always a welcome surprise. VERY happy with this purchase!

Stones before their fairly standard formula...
This is a great album...The stereo version creates nice separation and space...The Wax came flat, No bends in the cover, Surface noise minimal, and Sound is good...No Complaints

Better Sounding Than OG
I like this remaster better than the original release mainly because of a low end boost in the mix. The only downside was a slight warp (typical - outrageous!) and a bit of unwanted noise on one of the tracks. The rest of vinyl is fairly quiet (180 gram weight), but there was no indication of where it was pressed. (My guess is GZ in Czecho, considering the warp and noise, making it not worth it to return for a perfect copy). Don't expect the 3-d effect front cover, it's just a flat photo. Not the best Stones album, but worth it for the completist. Better sounding and less expensive than a VG+ OG.

Yes....and yes again !
Nearly every day a song or songs pop into my head. 2000 man popped in the other day and I knew I had to add this album to my Amazon Collection so I could listen anytime on Alexa. Still recall the lyrics.

Great band. Great album.
I bought this for someone else, but because I live with said person, I hear it often. I definitely think it's one of the better Rolling Stones albums, and it truly embodies that sound that is so characteristic of them.

... is a spoof of Psychedelic rock or just a bad knockoff of the Beatles
I just can't tell if this is a spoof of Psychedelic rock or just a bad knockoff of the Beatles. Either way it is a treasure and I enjoy it thoroughly. Wish they would re issue the CD or album with the original lenticular 3d cover...
