Beka Cast Iron Tagine
I ordered this as wanted a cast iron tagine as opposed to a ceramic one as I use an electric cooker. This arrived in good time beautifully packed. I had a recipe which was for stove top cooking, as opposed to cooking in the over, which I used almost immediately. Wonderful. The only downside is, I suppose, was that I was a little disappointed that the cast iron base is internally more rough than I was expecting. However, once I seasoned the base prior to cooking, have never looked back. It is heavy being cast iron/ however, not that bad; and the glazed top is light, so with the "handles" makes the whole thing easy to carry. I now wonder how I ever did without it a it is so versatile.

A good product I'm happy to recommen!
Easy to use on the job and in the oven. Easily holds enough for four, or six if you make accompaniments to go with the tagine. Well made, although I'm still a bit nervous of the ceramic top, handling with great care! Looks impressive when brought to table.

A great usable kitchen piece that looks great!
It will hold a lot of food, the food tastes great and re-hydrated. Meat is succulent due to the coned lid allowing the spice enthused condensation to re enter the mea (it works!) remember the base is cast iron. Some reviewers have commented on rust??? I rubbed olive oil into mine and baked it on the gas hob & allowed it to cool down before use. I understand this should be done to cast iron pieces.. look on YouTube For advice. Well it may well go into a dish washer and not break... but who would do that with a cast iron piece? You will strip off the oil (olive oil) coating and if left wet/ damp, well yes I could imagine rust. I simply wash in warm soapy water after use and dry immediately. I then rub in a bit more olive oil (at least for now whilst it’s new...) and leave it on the Range Master as a beautiful ornament till next use which is often as the cast iron base can be utilised for many things! I even used it to fry up sausages, mushrooms and onions for a full English break feast last week 😉👌

Well worth it.
Wish I had brought this earlier. Well worth the extra cost over a traditional one. This one should last for ever no more cracking.
