I have always been slightly baffled by the world of curtains, but these were very easy to attach to my existing pencil pleat curtains. There are no instructions, but the picture on the packet is enough to go by.You'll need to buy some curtain hooks separately. Use the strings in the header of the liner to gather it to the same size as your curtain, then use the hooks to attach it to the header of the curtain. There are three rows of string in the curtain header, and the hooks go in the bottom row. Easy peasy!Hung the curtains back up and they block out all the light, lovely job! Some light does come through the gap between the window and curtain rail, but that's hardly the fault of the liner. Just tried them out on a very sunny day and the bedroom is nice and dark.The material is nice quality, thick but lightweight.

I don't know why I didn't get these sooner. They are brilliant. 100% blackout for me. They are machine washable and I love the convenience of using on any curtain. It's easy to put up, just make sure you tie the ends so you don't lose the strings. You can stitch these to your curtain but I simply use tiny safety pins and discreetly pin between the curtain lining and the blackout lining. It works for me and is easy to remove. I recommend this.

Very effective on the early, bright mornings

One of the pairs of bedroom curtains we bought wasn't blackout, so bought this because of the great reviews and low price. Easy to attach, and provides a wonderful blackout experience. It also does a great thermal insulation job; very noticeable when we've had the A/C on in the hot summer months and the room remains cooler at night. There is a warning sticker to tie one end of the thread before bunching the lining, but just as a reminder: TIE ONE END OF THE THREAD so you don't end up pulling it through the holes!

Brought to block out the neighbours floodlight that i on all night and are refusing to to turn it off, despite a discussion with myself and nextdoor as we are all up for work in the morning. As a guide, we have no need to use a night light on the landing as neighbours light provides adequate light. These blackout curtain liners really do block out her light. Have ordered a 3rd pair for my sons room which is also affect by the light.

Great value, took a chance as mixed reviews but glad I did picture shows one curtain done with the lining and the other without, taken on a bright day, easy to attach as you just use curtain hooks to attach the lining to the inside of your curtain, I placed the hook inbetween the hooks already on my curtains and one row lower, make sure you purchase the same width and length of your curtains you already have, can’t say they help with noise reduction but definitely help reduce any draft

The curtains were easy to fit, once I figured out how to attach to existing curtain. The black out and quality is excellent. The street light outside my property has recently been changed to a very bright light so this will help eliminate most of the light at night. They were quite long so had to take 8 to 9 inches off the bottom but better than being too short! Highly recommended. I may buy more for other windows for the thermal element for both winter and summer.

Yes the linings work and our room is now dark and we’re not being woken up so early. They are lightweight and theres no smell BUT The quality of workmanship is very poor, stitching is not consistent and there are plucks in the material (see photos) I would of sent them back to Amazon but we were desperate for a decent nights sleep and as they are behind the curtains you cannot see the faults.
