It's the original filter and it works perfectly on my water tank, the water tastes as good es expected and it filters really well (I need to clean it every couple of months due to my typical Irish tap water not being too clean).With a good brush I manage to clean it and re-use it beyond the expiration date but you have to be careful, you can easily push the dirt inside and make a permanent stain on it. And of course, never use anything else than water to clean it, and avoid any contamination from bacteria (always use gloves etc.). Only do that if you really know what you are doing.

I like this water filter system it is economical and the filters can be composted afterwards (apart from a small amount of plastic at the top. )
