So far, so good!
Our apartment building has a problem with bed bugs and we wound up getting them in the living room, now doing our best to keep them out of our bedroom, so far no sign in there. Got this cover to prevent them from taking hold in the mattress just in case. This is nice and soft for the mattress, while the box spring below is now taped inside a giant plastic bag meant for use while moving. I like that it has strong velcro right over where the zipper stops and it is very bright white, which will make it easy to see anything in case they get up on the bed. It doesn't feel or sound so plasticy as other covers, however it does have a thin lining of plastic like stuff on the inside, but you can't tell from the outside; it's nice and soft!Anyone who's interested, here's some other stuff we've been doing, hope it works: We already had a metal bed frame, and I think it might be what saved us so far. I invested in a steamer that goes for 40 minutes and used it all over the furniture, carpet, and in cracks and baseboards. I got some carpet sliding things for each foot of all furniture. These I chose instead of interceptors because we also put a smooth piece of packers tape on each leg, which hopefully will do that job of keeping them from crawling up, while the carpet sliders make it easy to move the furniture to steam and vacuum the carpet each week (and to re-treat every month or so). Pesticides we are using: a light dusting of food grade DE, barely perceptible is what I heard is best, so they will crawl right over and through, rather than around it. We used this in cracks and crevices and in the groove of each carpet slider. We got the one here on amazon that comes with a duster. I have used DE in the past without the aid of a duster and it is much harder to apply properly and DE can really easily get everywhere and make a big mess. Also Crossfire, really nice stuff, with clear easy to follow instructions. Unfortunately, like most apartment renters, we are subject to use a laundromat instead of a washer dryer in the unit. We bring our clothes there in pillowcases and toss the pillowcase in with the clothes. No need to use plastic bags IMO. We then us a hard plastic, smooth laundry basket, no grooves: make sure it's deep enough on the bottom so your clothes don't have a chance to touch the floor. We use this to pick up the laundry, it is cleaned off before and after. No clothing allowed on the floor, and for now we aren't using our dresser, just hanging everything up, socks and things like that inside a bag, hanging with everything else. And that's about it, so far so good. Good luck to all of you out there dealing with these mini vampires!! Breath, take care of yourself and do what you can to keep peace with your family too..it can be a stressful, exasperating thing :(

Do you feel like jumping off a bridge?
Yeah? Rather sleep in your car? Yeah? Buy a tent and sleep outside? I did! Like most of the stories on here this will be long. If you just wanna know if it’s a good product then stop here, yes it is. If you wanna hear my story with the spawns of Satan then read on ..I caught my case pretty early because I am terrified of bugs. That’s not to say I only had one or two. When I started waking up with bites, and literally feeling them crawl on me I finally did a thorough inspection. BOOM! Right near my feet was a nest. I’ve never been more scared in my life! Grabbed a credit card and tupperware and scraped the whole end into it, then hurried and sealed it shut. Called my landlord the next morning and someone came and confirmed what I already knew. To say I freaked out was an understatement. When he told me he was behind and could take weeks to come do I’m pretty sure I had a mini heart attack. Now you should know I live in low income housing and they have to treat it (thank God) but weeks?!? I have 2 kids and my youngest carries his blanket around like the Charlie Brown boy. Let me also add that before I knew I had them I would bring my bed blanket out to the living room in the morning. UGH!! The first thing I did after my panic attack was buy some DE. Literally dusted all sides of my bed and box spring in it. I then dusted heavily around all four sides of my bed. After that I laid down three strips of double sided tape at the entrance of my bedroom, added more DE, and closed the door. Once on the other side I completely sealed off my bedroom with those plastic tarps and heavy duty tape. I then once again laid down a thick layer of DE and 2 more strips of double sided tape. If one of them could have made it through my wall of China I would have shook his hand and gave him a pat on the back! I also opened up the bedroom window so they wouldn’t smell my CO2 and try to come to me. Figured if the window was open that maybe it would throw them off. I have no idea if it worked or not. But they never showed up in my sons room. They say not to sleep in another room cause they’ll just follow but I’d rather eat a roach then spend a minute in that room. Luckily my 14 year old has severe OCD and absolutely nothing in his room except 2 dressers, his tv and chair and his bed. Let me add here that I immediately bought the climb ups, sent my oldest to his fathers for a few weeks and slept in his bed. All outlets that weren’t in use were taped up, layered! The ones I had already caught I decided to have them be my test subjects. I put some DE in there then taped it back up and waited. It’s true that DE doesn’t work immediately but I notice it def stuck to them and even made it hard for them to stay on their feet. They kept flipping upside down. In another container I just had them in there and taped the lid. My landlord said they can suffocate after awhile. WRONG! For four weeks I watched them walk around like it was their home. They don’t suffocate, even vacuum sealed they still have enough oxygen to live awhile!! But by day 2 the DE did its job, they were def dead! But unfortunately I still had to go into the room of death to clean it out for the pest guys. I put trash bags over my shoes, taped it real good, and used doctor gloves for my hands which also was taped around my wrists. How did I get in and out of that bedroom you might ask. Well luckily I live on the first floor and went in and out thru the window. Basically anything I haven’t used in a year went straight to the trash. The things I did need and wanted to keep were doubled bagged, sealed tight and brought outside. Things I couldn’t wash or get wet went into a storage container with DE. Oh and to the person who showed video that they can’t climb scotch tape you deserve an award my friend! Anyway I put those certain things into the container with the DE and put scotch tape along the entire top of the bin inside, so if they were in any of those things and tried to climb out by the time the reached the scotch tape they fell right back down into the DE. Like one person said, make friends with garbage bags cause you will be living outta them. I bagged things that needed washed, threw the tightly sealed bags out the window and then double bagged them again before getting put in my car to be dried. They say 30 mins high heat kills them, but like I said these things paralyzed me so i did 40-50 most times, especially with clothes close to the bed. Everything on the bed went right into the trash, I was too scared to even touch them, except for my pillow, no literally, I have one of those My Pillows and it’s amazing. I washed that then fried it. Bought a couple cheap pillows, put the freshly washed pillow covers on and used double sided tape to seal off the ends. BTW, double sided tape works perfectly to seal shut ur pillows instead of also buying pillow cases! Before this my bed was on the floor, I didn’t have a bed frame, so I bought a metal one from Walmart for 32$! Not bad to get ur bed off the floor right! After the treatment I put both the mattress and box spring protectors on, set up the metal bed frame, used scotch tape on each leg maybe an inch down from the frame, and put climb ups on the feet of them. I also dusted DE in each one just to be safe. And if one did happen to get on my bed and go down to it’s hiding spot or whatever they weren’t able to climb back up with the scotch tape there! Luckily 4 weeks later the pest guys came and did their thing, I reduced a lot of clothes and whatnot that has been sitting in my room for years and finally after weeks of sleeping in a tent then my teenagers room I was finally able to break down the Great Wall and open my bedroom for business again! Trust me, if ur reading this whole thing you’re prob like I am and becoming a bedbug expert. I highly suggest buying both protectors and even a new metal bed frame and climb ups if you can. If not then at least invest in some DE and scotch tape to dust everything you can and tape the legs of your bed so that they never get a chance to get to you again from the floor! Good luck my fellow insomniacs, you will win this battle!

Check the Zipper as soon as you get it!
I got this and the zipper was broke when I opened up the package. I chatted with their online support (through the manufacturer's site, not Amazon), sent a picture, and they immediately sent me a replacement. You have to have your Amazon order number ready for them though. So while I didn't want to have to bother contacting them at all, they made it very very very easy to contact them and get a replacement. That's the best you can ask for in a situation where there is a damaged product.I'm giving them an overall 5 star because it will suit my purpose of adult fun time adventures. It will resist sweat and other splashes. More of a light sprinkling though, not a full shower. If you are looking for bed bug protection, the zipper closes at the end with a velcro, which doesn't seem thorough enough. It also doesn't seem to be waterproof enough for other reviewers who are looking to resist bed wetting and dumping a whole pot of coffee onto their bed. It looks like it will resist it long enough to get the sheets and everything off and into the washer. Not overnight soiling. I don't know how many people sleep in their own filth, but I digress.

100% Recommend
Great quality product! I recently bought a new mattress and I bought the cover protector at the mattress store and kinda regret it because it was expensive and terrible quality. I saw a couple of reviews on this product and decided to purchase it. 100% recommend, great price and great quality. It covers the entire mattress and it feels great and it will protect my mattress. It may be a little difficult apply for one person more like a 2 person job.

Better then exterminators protectors!!
So I ended up getting bed bugs from a trip I went on. I wanted to burn the house down! After a ton of cleaning and washing everything in my house a well reputable exterminator came to my home to treat it.He sold me mattress covers for 2 beds and one box spring. It came to over $200. He didn’t have them with him so he was bringing them to my house on Monday. (It was a Friday he was here)I decided to look on Amazon to see prices and I came across these. I ended up ordering them. When the exterminator came back with the ones I bought from him I told him I bought some on Amazon. Well he pretty much laughed at me. Told me I can’t buy anything like theirs. He said that the ones I bought would make noise, aren’t water proof, the zipper seam would rip, bugs can get in at the zipper pull because there is always space there, they are thin and would rip... blah blah blah... (he didn’t know I had them on my bed all ready.)He pulls his out of the package to show me how “great” his was! He then proceeded to show me the zipper pull on his and said. “I put a zip tie here to make sure the zipper stays closed and no chance of bugs crawling in.” It was all I could do to refrain from rolling my eyes.I then proceeded to tell him that the ones I bought are water proof. Same material as his and that there is a Velcro flap at the zipper pull that attaches firmly over the zipper pull and I wouldn’t need to “zip tie” it. He then told me I would be sorry when they arrived because sellers will say anything to sell their products and there are no protectors out there better then theirs. LolSooo I asked him if he wanted to see them. He looked surprised and said “oh you already have them?!So I brought him up. Showed him the protector I bought and the Velcro flap over the zipper pull and he was speechless! He honestly didn’t know what to say.Bottom line: These were BETTER then the ones the exterminator brought! They don’t make noise when you move in bed, the material is soft yet sturdy enough to not rip, the zipper is well made. These protectors are AMAZING!I highly recommend them!!

Pretty good
The media could not be loaded. It looks like there are a few variations of this product so here is the one that I received. My mattress is 11 inch and this cover is 13 which is ok in case I want to add a 2 inch foam topper. I appreciate that this wraps around the entire mattress and not just the top, since my last waterproof one would slide right off and take my sheets with it.The fabric feels nice with a good amount of stretch to it.If you're concerned about the ruffling noise waterproof covers make, this one is honestly pretty minimal compares to others I've tried but I've attached a video for reference and that's me trying to make it as loud as possible haha! For the price it's definitely worth a try, and I personally really like it.

Easy to use, no noise
I have been looking for a new mattress protector that actually protects. I have 2 issues-I have fibromyalgia and one of my symptoms is crazy night sweats-I have 4 smaller dogs that like to sleep on the bed with me and sometimes they have small accidents.I much prefer this to the protectors that just go over the corner like a fitted sheet. This protector zips up and covers the whole mattress. I did have a little trouble with air getting stuck in it, but I left the zipper open a few inches and it works great. It’s very easy to put on, both sides feel like the same material. There is no noise or feel of plastic moving when you move which is super important to me.I’m really happy with it.

Water spill, didn't leak at all
These are amazing. I bought one initially for my daughter's bed and dust mite allergies and then bought 3 more for the rest of the beds in our house. I accidentally put my water bottle on the bed, not realizing the lid wasn't screwed on yet. The entire bottle poured onto the sheet, and once i noticed, i removed the sheet to find a puddle of water just sitting on top of this encasement. I soaked it up with a towel, and then i checked the mattress underneath. 100 percent dry. What a huge difference between that and the 80 dollar mattress protector that was sold with the mattress and would still soak the mattress when she used to pee the bed and didn't even block mites or bugs. It's easy to zip on and doesn't make noise when you're on it either.
