Water Tech BLD03 Blue Diamond Robotic Pool Cleaner

I’ve had this in my pool for about two months now and I have to confess: It’s taken all the drudge work out of pool maintenance. Instead of spending time brushing and vacuuming the pool, I spend more time relaxing in it.My pool is 36 by 18 and this robot does a terrific job of cleaning the entire bottom and sides. I have a lot of landscaping around the pool and an excessive amount of junk ends up in my pool: Leaves, flowers, fine dirt. This little gizmo gets it all up and into the filter bag. I run it two or three times a week and the pool is spotless and sparkling at all times.In term of positives, I can’t add anything that other reviewers haven’t already said. I’d have given it 5 stars but for two minor annoyances:1) My pool is bisected by a “step” about one foot high that separates the shallow end from the deep end. This step can, sometimes, confuse the robot and it spends a lot less time “up the step” in the shallow end than it does in the deeper end. If I start the robot in the shallow end it seems to do a better job of covering everything.2) While it does climb the walls and scrub the tile at the waterline, it could go a better job if it would climb about an inch higher. Once a week or so I still need to get down on hands and knees and scrub the tile above the waterline.The filter bag gives me the evidence that it picks up everything; after every cleaning cycle it is filled with the finest grains of sand and dust imaginable in addition to the expected leaves and other garbage that live in the bottom of every pool.Granted, it is a lot of money for the convenience of a sparkling pool, but it’s totally worth it for the time I get back enjoying the pool instead of laboring to keep it clean.

I would not buy the blue diamond again, but once you buy it from VMInnovations you’re stuck with it if you don’t return it within 60 days. The first one I bought did not work right out of the box, I returned it for free with no hassle. When I got the new one it worked good for about 6 months then it craped out. I called VMInnovations and they said I could return it but had to pay shipping.From my experience with VMInnovations you will pay return shipping and they will try to get you to pay shipping it back to you unless you talk to the manager. The last thing to know if you buy this is that if you return it anytime after 60 days for repairs you will have to pay the return shipping to VMInnovations or blue diamond every time it breaks down for the next four years until the warranty expires. After 60 days there is no returns for refunds no matter how many times the thing breaks down.

Quit working after a year. Worked great until then, it is almost impossible to fine a good pool vac for a reasonable price, we have gone thru 3. They either quit working after a short time or don't pick up worth a darn. On to number four...

We have a large pool and the cleaner does a great job. Usually only needs to run one cycle to clean entire pool. Very easy to set up, load in pool and unload. Cleaning the filter bag would be the most work you would have to do with this cleaner. My only complaint is i would have liked the bag to be machine washable, which it is not. My husband would spend hours vacuuming the pool with our old school vacuum, but now he gets to enjoy the pool a little more since he's not spending so much time cleaning it. I have not seen it climb the stairs so we will usually take the brush and brush off the stairs before running the vacuum. Takes a minute to do. It climbs the walls very well. Highly recommend this purchase. We considered many other brands before purchasing this one, but the warranty of 4 yrs and our proximity to a service location sold us on this cleaner.

I have had my unit for about 4 years.The good:It cleans fantastically!It worked great for about 2 years total of 4.The bad:The cord twisted in the second season and would not straighten again. Water Tech said it was ok. It wasn't!As with all I'm sure, parts are very expensive.VERY EXPENSIVE to ship to Water Tech for warranty repair. You also pay for return shipment.Last time it was shipped back the unit was FULL of popcorn packing material. I had to take it apart.The unit worked for two weeks and quit again. I found the power supply had been dropped there or in shipping and the corner is cracked.The filter bag is difficult to clean.In summary, I doubt I will buy another unit that I have to ship to get serviced like this one!

Removes everything except the very finest dust. It is fun to watch it climb the walls.

Excellent product. Does not scuff my liner like the Dolphins did. Soft rollers are great. Has no problem climbing walls and cleans my my pool in about an hour. Recommended by my pool repair contractor when he noticed that my old cleaner was damaging the liner that he had installed 3 years ago. Very efficient.

sent it back. not a big fan of cleaning the bag. went with the dolphin triton much easer to clean filter cartridges.
