Poor packaging - vulnerable to damage
Haven't put this to the full test yet. Having had to return one, I was disappointed that the replacement arrived with a chip on one of the grinding wheels. I hope that this is not too deep that I can't remediate it with the wheel dressing tool. (Maybe Amazon can send me a new grinding wheel, but I'm not holding my breath; I don't think they replace parts of such an order - it's all or nothing, I think, and I'm not going through all that palaver again). Hence loss of a star or two.Otherwise, it started ok, is a good weight, and seems sturdy and stable, and is a good size for my requirements.PS: The guide plates are rather feeble and small, and are not quite parallel to the grinding wheels - looks like the protective cover arms to which you attach the small plates provided are not at a true right angle. I can't position the far superior https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IEHT8PY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1because those protruding arms obstruct the Veritas. I intend to saw them back and have the full flexibility that the Veritas provides.

Good Bench Grinder - Decent Power
Recommended - Didn't pay much more than the cheapest makes/models which have smaller wheels and a lot less power. It's made in china like so many products but appears to be a quality unit.Even for grinding/wire-brushing small objects, you need a decent diameter and the power to not slow down - this grinder has both.Tool rests are adequate.Decent weight allows you to use it without bolting down (naughty but it wont go anywhere) Best clamp in a vice to be safe! The medium grit stone is coarser than I needed. Fine is OK. Basically I use the fine stone for all but the heaviest of grinding. It is reasonably balanced and once up to speed runs steady and true. I have used it for dressing blades, cold chisels and a pry bar. It's too harsh for screwdrivers (better to draw file screwdrivers).I've been very pleased with this bench grinder and have no hesitation in recommending it.

sturdy, smooth running, good value
Robust build, smooth running, 600 watt motor. Does what it says on the box: general purpose workshop and sharpening use.

A piece of SCRAP!
I ordered this item and 4 weeks later it had not arrived so I contacted Amazon, who were very sympathetic and had another dispatched immediately. Received it within the week. At last, I thought. Opened up the box and set it up. Plugged it in and switched it on. It began to run but very slowly. Thought, that's not right. I felt the motor and it was getting very warm, next thing smoke began to appear from the base. Switched it of immediately and unplugged it. Well, I'll not say what I thought. Next day contacted Amazon again and told them the story. Again they were very sympathetic and very sorry to hear about my plight and said they would have another one dispatched immediately. Again it landed before estimated time. Not so bad I thought and proceeded to unwrap it and get it set up. Switched it on and all I got this time was a humming noise. No movement at all, even with a little help from me trying to get the wheels to spin. I knew this was going nowhere and as the motor began to warm up I just switched it off before the smoke got a chance to appear. Now I have two, to return and I'm going for the refund option this time, I think enough is enough. But wait, the saga does not end here. I received a message to say that another one is due to arrive next Friday. It must be the original one that I ordered and, like the prodigal son, was lost but has been found again. Now its on its way to me once more. You couldn't make this story up. I don't no what I should do when I get it. Refuse to accept it or take it and try it out, just to see what it will do. Maybe blow the place up. Then again, third time lucky.... Naw! Basically guys, don't waist your time or money.

Work rest arms !!!!!.
Hi, I think that the Sealy grinder is sturdy and well built, suits my work,it is a good workshop tool,Someone please note, delivery, both rest arms where bent and badly damaged, but, I DECIDED TO REPAIR THEM, rather than having the hassle of rejecting the grinder, the flimsy packaging has to be something else, for such a heavy item this must be enclosed in a properwooden surround even if this would add extra carriage, would you get your thinking cap on,please, and sort this.machine is good alas, the hopeless protection must be attended too urgently.RegardsWilliam,

Good tool
Grinder it's perfect we'll made soft start just brilliant but... Package for such a heavy tool it's a joke this is my second BG200XL during the week and again has been damaged during (?) transport. If you consider weight of the grinder and see styrofoam and box you will see why two times I have received grinder damaged. Second time luckly grinder stone protection cover was just dent not ripped off the body grinder as it was at the first time. So if you will decide to buy one check with courier is it OK
