I have managed perfectly well without one of these for years. I do do a lot of baking. I liked the sound of an extra pair of hands. I was tempted. My Nan who was a professional cook had one in her tiny kitchen. Everything in that kitchen had to be well worth the space it took up. So they had to good didn't they? I couldn't justify spending a fortune in case it turned out to be a white elephant. It certainly hasn't been trumpeting around my kitchen. It's great. I make a lot of bread. It does a lovely job of kneading it so I don't have to. It has improved the texture of my bread. I have made three cakes with it and whisked stuff with this to make a topping for one of the cakes. It's definitely a great help in the kitchen. In the couple of weeks I have owned this I have used it more than I have EVER used my food processor. This is simple to use and very easy to clean. The attachments are nice and solid and easy to clean. I am pleased I bought it. Let's see how long it lasts because it is certainly going to work hard for it's bench space.

I love a stand mixer. I was a bit worried that I had gone for style over substance with this mixer. Until recently I had the Von Chef one which was a good mixer but didn't have the looks of this one. However upon using it a couple of times I am more than happy with its performance. It gets right into the corners and so far seems to have plenty of power. I've not used the dough hook yet, but I don't think it will pose any problems. At the cost it seems to be a cracking buy, it's a good couple of hundred cheaper than a kitchen aid. As I mentioned before it looks stunning in the kitchen. It was well packaged and the power lead can be tucked away for easy storage.

Like the style, colour, size, performance and price. The paddle, for mixing cakes, reaches almost to the bottom of the mixing bowl, so all ingredients blended well. I had been looking to purchase a stand mixer for sometime and read 'write-ups' on many similar performance mixers at higher and lower prices and settled on this one. I would recommend this product, it's well made and feels solid! not cheap and flimsy. Great British Bake off here I come.

Fabulous mixer. It looks much more expensive than it is and the cream colour is lovely. I've used it a couple of times for cakes and haven't needed to scrape the sides. The guard is really easy to put on as it's in two parts so can be attached whilst the whisk is down. It's not too noisy even at high speed. The retractable power cord is a really good feature too. The attachments are very easy to put on, it's literally a couple of seconds. I look at lots of different mixers before I purchased and I'm really glad I went for this one.

Brilliant mixer, not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Speed settings are great, no trouble with flour going everywhere - just add a little at a time!Very easy to clean and it looks beautiful. Can’t ask for much more at such an affordable price.

Christmas present for my 11 year old daughter . Looks great , simple to use , very sturdy and mixes great. Glad I chose this mixer over more expensive ones . This one is perfect for a first time stand mixer

My mum has had a food mixer for as long as I can remember (58 years)) and I have always wanted one. Saw this item loved the colour and the price. Swan are a good brand. Once ingredients are whisked I have to lift the whisk end up and mix by hand as the whisk does not go near the bottom of the bowl or the sides. Also the maximum speed is not high enough to whisk meringues. I have made two cakes but instead of being quicker than my hand whisk its takes considerably longer.Please can you let e know how to return and get my money back as this does not perform as well as I wanted it too.
