Perfect for nano tanks
Can’t find a half decent review anywhere for this including photos.Being specticle with others commenting on the filter being loud - It’s not loud when you give it a few seconds to pump the water through the system properly. There are a few spitting bubble noises but I believe that’s expected. As seen in a photo I added some extra coarse sponge for further filtration. Will be adding media to the other half after the fine sponge slider provided.I like the sponge that came on the pump tube. (I thought i would have to cut one out myself)For the long term i think it would be worth the user adding a little extra sponge. Other than that I think for the price you can’t get much better. One thing to note that the pump doesn’t appear to be removable. Would recommend for a nano tank.

Great little filter
The media could not be loaded. Does the job , i am still cycling the aquarium and its been mostly good and can be annoying , sometimes starts making a rattling noise but i have figured out how to make it quite when it does but once quite and you do not disturb it, it stays that way, replaced the cartridge with some ceramic media in mesh bag and a sponge .All in all i think its great value for money.

Nothing wrong with it
Purchased as a secondary to small nano aquarium and it works fine. You will have to ditch crappy carbon in it and add something like seachem matrix and some floss but works great when added medium. Easy to prime just remember you have to do this first and continue with water pouring until it run silent. If you have noise you haven’t followed instructions. I wouldn’t use as main filter but alongside an internal spray bar for example it’s a good addition to add more filtration. Very cheaply made and very small but it’s a tenner so for the money it’s perfectly fine

little money needs little modifications
for my nano tank I needed a small transparent hob. I removed internal the filter and sponge it came with its useless and put coarse sponge and medium and also bio media. because it's a desk tank, To stop noise I added foam pads from window seal to where it makes contact with aquarium. also don't put its cover it's made from really thin plastic itll be noisy whatever you do.if it's not desk tank the noise is low and you don't need to modify anything. one thing i like is it's self priming , 3 out of 5 times it didn't need priming for me. it's for nano tank up to 15L max id say. if it lasts me 1 year iam happy. time will tell.

Great little HOB for nano tank. EDIT: avoid - opt for something else.
The media could not be loaded. I was skeptical of this little HOB because of the mixed reviews it's seen however, what a fantastic little filter. It's near silent and can definitely push water. The sponge it comes with is very much something left to be desired, so I added additional foam in the back compartment from a seller on amazon. As well as this I've added some bio filter in the front compartment. Whether the bio will do much I'm unsure, but I have a feeling it might and I would probably recommend for anyone unsure. My main concern before purchasing this was sound. I really didn't want to deal with any sort of whine and more importantly I wanted to keep the sound of water to a minimum considering the tank is situated in the office at home. I figured considering the price I'd have to adapt a small amount of foam just under the outlet to soften the splash. I was wrong! There is practically zero noise coming from this HOB. The only noise you'll notice in the video attached is a couple of the small bio balls caught up in the waters flow (easily sorted that out).To give you some sort of comparison, imagine your PC or laptop sitting idle with nothing running. It's comparable to to a decent 120mm fan at it's lowest RPM setting. If I was to nitpick and offer a negative, it's made of cheap plastic and one drop to the floor and it's done. But let's be honest, you already knew it was cheap plastic considering it's a tenner. All in all, I'm extremely pleased. Fingers crossed it lasts.EDIT: Well, this didn't last. My disappointment is immeasurable and I'm left frantically buying additional filters. But what was it I expected from a £10 filter? Maybe I was unlucky but I somehow don't think so. This stopped working after 2 weeks of use. Severe clicking sound omitted from the impeller and low RPM. I messaged the seller (who was extremely nice and prompt with their CS) and they advised to take apart and clean any obstructions from the impeller well to which there wasn't any. They couldn't send me a refund as they had no more stock which I was happy with.My advise would be to seek an alternative. Maybe have a look at the internal mini filters but I would very much avoid this subpar option for your fish.

Cracking, superb nano tank hob filter!
The media could not be loaded. I can't understand these bad reviews on this grand little hob filter? I primed it as you'd need to all fillup filters which I can only think a few of its reviewers arn't doing. I've added a video to demonstrare so please turn on the sound when you watch it, as this is the terrible loud noise it makes!?🤣Its ideal for my nano tank of 20 ltrs. I did add the filter medium from my previous filter and it was great to find that theres plenty of room to do it. It also has has an extendable extraction tube which could easily reach the bottom of my tank and it has its own own filter sponge on the end that is removable for cleaning. The filter itself has an adjustable flow and will cope on a tank up to 45ltrs. It's easy to clean and a cracking, simple, effective filter. For the money I think its amazing!

It works great and is really quiet
I bought this to replace a air pump driven foam filter for my 20L shrimp tank. It works great and is really quiet. I have put the foam from the foam filter on the inlet and so didn't need to run alongside the foam filter to build up bacteria. It works much better than the foam filter and has more throughput, so is more than adequate for a very small tank. It is also much quieter than having the air bubbles, and you still get some surface circulation. If it is for shrimp you would need a better foam on the inlet as the one provided is too coarse to prevent shrimplets being sucked in.
