Really works and reduces bills
Like most hot tub owners I was looking to reduce costs when not using the tub. I’d read about thermal blankets and of course recognised them as bubble wrap. Of course it’s not bubble wrap as it’s made from much thicker plastic. Cutting it to shape was easy enough so it sits on the water surface, not under the lid. Yes it does work, not it won’t half your bill, but you’ll notice the difference for sure, every little helps these days. Ours has rucked up, but it helps to turn the jests off when not using the tub. You could make some ties to keep it in place, but that could make it less easy to remove and refit. All in all a good product.

Good Quality
Good quality product and easy to cut to size. My Jacuzzi J480 runs 4 cycles a day and has two water falls and a surface skim filtration system which most people think gets in the way of these covers. I have cut around the skimmer and around where the water falls from the features and it has been running fine for almost a month now. If you cut it correctly it won’t get in the way or fold up when your spa cycles. Definitely helped to bring the heating cost down and something thats worthwhile buying as a piece of additional insulation underneath your spa cover.

Reduces your electricity bill
Bit of a pain to cut to a near perfect circular size to fit my inflatable hot tub, especially for someone with limited DIY skills like myself. However, I got there in the end. It certainly doesn't look perfect in shap, but it definitely helped to retain the heat, and in doing so reduce my energy consumption. A sensible investment for all hot tub owners.

We didn't cut the sheet or place onto water surface...
We have an aqua therapy pool which circulates its water periodically and were therefore conscious of the reports that this sheet can fold itself up if placed on the water in these circumstances. However, we chose to sandwich the sheet between the top of the pool and the folding cover - above the level where the water might be jetted. We also did not cut the sheet allowing a little overhang. Brilliant result and does what we needed it to. As the top cover is a folding type, the pool was losing heat between the two halves of the cover at the sides. The sheet happily seals this gap and reduces the heat lost at these points. The overhang does cause the cover to sit slightly higher in this manner requiring some adjustment to the straps but it appears we are saving 1-1.5C overnight (comparing power off tests overnight with and without the sheet) which of course converts to less power used.

Noticeable difference
Straight out the packaging you can tell it’s made of a quality material.Once cut to fit your tub, put it bubble side down and your done, it’s that simple.I use this on my StrongSpa G2 and I’ve notice the difference between the heating cycles. It’s not going to cut your bills in half, but it will make a difference over a year.Well worth the money.

Didn’t work for me
The water in our hot tub had been crystal clear for months, the day after I placed this on the water under the hot tub cover, the water became really cloudy almost milky looking. I had to empty the tub and refill, so I don’t want to use it again as I fear it’ll do the same again. I couldn’t return it as I’d cut it to fit. So it’s at the back of the shed gathering dust.

Sensible economy device for owners of small spas
We came across this concept by accident, and rather wish we had done so sooner. The blanket does indeed help to retain heat in winter and has a measurable effect on spa chemical consumption. We have found it especially useful when away from home, since it helps to maintain chemical levels for long periods especially when the spa is in "Sleep" mode. A certain dexterity, and nerve, is needed to fit the blanket precisely: in our case, ample material was provided to fit our average circular tub, but the blanket is square so needed careful cutting to get a good fit. However, by unfolding it and leaving it approximately fitted for a few hours to make the blanket more malleable, then marking a waterline on the blanket with chinagraph pencil and trimming with sharp scissors, your patience will be rewarded! Both the blanket, and the supplier are strongly recommended - Happy Hot Tubs delivered promptly at a most competitive price.

Good value and quality
Too soon to tell if it helps with heat loss yet. A bit fiddly to cut but not impossible, my only comment I would like to make is that if it came rolled up, it would have been easier to fit only it came folded up flat so it wasn’t very flat to lay into the tub and cut
