Not as good as you expect
Had this for 17 months now and it is chewing the staples. The general build is not what you would expect of Leitz. Right from the word go it had a bit of a rough mechanism and the mechanics look a bit cheap. It is guaranteed for 10 years, but the small print restricts you to Leitz staples. They would probably blame cheap staples but we use the same in all sorts of other staplers. My colleague has an ACE stapler, probably 50yrs old and it has no problem. So, overall, bit disappointed.

but it has a nice switch at the back and the rail is sliding ...
Second one I bought on this exact brand and serial (maybe this one is a newer version), updated...as the way you upload the staples is way different; you don't need to lift up to 90 degrees the upper part (this way there is not more issue with the spring band that for older versions to some buyers was getting loose, detached or got apart), but it has a nice switch at the back and the rail is sliding out upfront for you to put the staples on and just push it back.I have one for home using it moderately for the last 3 years, and now I bought this one for my office. Love it. Strong metal, heavy and very effective. They solved it very nicely with this new sliding design for staples load up. A bit expensive I would say, but well worth it.

Perfect for stapling anything from a couple of sheets to a thick wad
I often need to staple a thick wad together and this Leitz does that perfectly. It seems strange to be raving about a boring old stapler, but this one is not just functional, it's a thing of beauty as well. It is small enough to fit the hand well, but quite heavy, being made of thick steel. It will certainly last longer than I will. I ordered it together with a box of 5000 24/8 Rapesco staples, which took it over the £20 needed for free delivery. These staples suit the thick wads, but it the quick-load system makes it very easy to switch over to to the usual 26/6 or 24/6 staples for stapling just a few sheets. And there's a built-in staple remover as well! I have binned my cheap-and-nasty stapler and one of life's small irritations with it.

Terrific Stapler.
Great Stapler, particularly for small wads 20/30 sheets.I've tried many over the years, and this one is the best by far. If you need 20-30 sheets - look no further. It staples them no problems what so ever, no bent staples, or staples stuck half way through the sheets here. I got a box of 24/8 staples, and will look no further.Highly Recommended product.

Great stapler
This stapler carries out a neat -first time- join to numerous sheets of paper. You need to apply quite a large force when stapling the higher capacity it is capable of. Whilst not excessive it is not helped by its size - great for the desk but a larger stapler would have more leverage. Build quality is good - mainly all metal except the refill lever (no force needs to be applied to this) and comparable with an old Rexel stapler I have

The best stapler I've ever had
It just works. I can't tell you the hours I've spent trying to fix Rexel staplers, but this one was recommended to me and I glad I got it.

After starting off sturdily, it has broken after five ...
After starting off sturdily, it has broken after five months of occasional use. The staple cartridge won't release and it's lever has detached. Rubbish. I bought this one thinking that it would be a longer-lasting item than the cheaper one I bought in the previous month and which didn't work from the off-set.

Smooth, satisfying stapling!
My colleague complimented me on the smooth action of this very well made little machine: "It's so satisfying!" Good materials, built to tight tolerances, and well designed to minimise the torques which can result in irregular stapling with even a good Rapesco stapler. Worth the money!
