A Terrific Bit of Kit!!
I live in the country and get a lot of spiders and other insects coming in through the windows - particularly in the summer when they are open most of the time. I was really proficient using the glass and card method but this little spidey catcher is fantastic. The mesh is very fine so you can even catch tiny spiders without losing them through the holes as well as larger ones. The only disadvantage is that it is not rechargeable; other than that I just love it. It's so much easier than rushing for a glass and a bit of card and then trying to get in the right position for capture. I have never really used the extension tube but I do usually use the nozzle - even big spiders can be vacuumed up without injury. If you have to walk somewhere to let the beastie out you can use the cap which is provided, if you aren't scared of spiders you can just put your finger over the nozzle or you can just carry it vertically and tap the tube as required just to shake them down to the bottom again. Equally you can just give it a quick burst of vacuum to bring them back to the mesh. I have had no problem with the tubes being loose and I usually just check if the spiders are on or near the mesh and take the tube apart from the handle to let them out. If I'm upstairs I open the window wide enough to be able to hold the spider catcher away from the windowsill and just detach the tube from the handle and they drop down. It's really good for catching moths (without injury) which sit conveniently on a surface without moving or bees and wasps that don't move quickly on windows. If they could bring out the same item but with the ability to recharge the battery it would be amazing. I do think that it takes a little while to really get to know how to use it to the best of its ability but once you've got the hand of it then Bob's your uncle!! I did buy a rechargeable one - a different make - and it was total rubbish. I don't like spiders or other insects in the house and so I go round every night before bed, checking for spiders and ejecting them.

Does the job well.
My second one as the original lasted years but sadly the motor lost its power and suction. Would want another.

A few modifications to improve it.
I found that small flies could get through the screen across the fan. I glued a piece of extract hood filter material over the screen. This reduced the flow and needed the small nozzle fitted, so I could cap it I turned down a bottle cork to fit the nozzle. It now catches and holds small flies great.

Must have!
I bought this kind of skeptical as to how good it would be, but it's fantastic. It's an absolute lifesaver, especially when spiders are concerned. So far I have caught 3 big flies and one medium spider with it.It comes with a nozzle attachment that is great for precision or corners. You must remove this piece before putting on the lid. You can also use it without the nozzle, which was how I caught the flies. This also makes it less of a faf as you can just pop the lid straight on.It goes together very easily, it all slides together and is very sturdy when assembled. It is also secure, meaning you can leave a bug in there for some time if necessary. The battery goes in the base and was the only slightly awkward thing about it. I had to dig around a little to find the 9V connectors. I had to be careful doing this as to not damage the connections.I do wish it was a bit cheaper, around £10-13. But after seeing it in action and how much it eases my mind, it's worth the near £15 price-tag.All in all it is a brilliant piece of kit for catching bugs. For the most part it eliminates the need for a cup and paper, and is also much easier. I would recommend this to everyone!

Very useful in sucking up spiders without damaging them and then releasing the spiders outside
A very good product that does what it say it does and very easy to use.

Are we talking real or virtual spiders here?
You might like to consider another product if the spider in question is larger than a money spider. Though as we could detect no suction at all even that is debatable. I opened the package with great expectation, coz the picture of the mega spider on the packet made me assume it would suck up the big mama false widow on my landing. I'd only had the item a month when i put it together, spurred into action by the sudden appearance of a male suitor on the other side of her window. I sent a relative down there to avert a false widow baby situation. He was not convinced a device with no suction was gonna work, and sure enough returned, reporting she'd just moseyed away from the device once it had failed to suck her up. Looking at other reviews it seems some of these work better than others and maybe I got a dud. Being disabled I can't just pop up to the post to send it back so £12 was quite a lot to pay though maybe one could still use it with a bit of card a la traditional spider catching method. Or failing that as a didgeridoo or something.

Effective
Just what I order and it works perfectly.

Ok
Fa quello che promette. Discreta potenza. Io lo ho acquistato sopratutto per aspirare le cimici che in certi periodi dell'anno aprendo le finestre me le ritrovo tra le scanalature del telaio. Non so la durata della pila in quanto l'ho acquistato da poco
