Q: Must I wet the sphagnum before use in a hanging basket?

Yes, it comes dried out and compacted in bricks, completely unusable until you rehydrate it. Drop a brick in about a gallon or 2 of water and let it sit for a while to rehydrate and expand. Then you can fluff it up and use it in your baskets.

Q: How can you say this contains 50 quarts? maybe 5 after soaked?

Haven't used it yet but it really doesn't seem like it would.

Q: Why are nearly all of these reviews for the sticky traps - not for the sphagnum moss?

Because we didn't buy any sphagnum moss! Only sticky traps, why they ask us, good question. Sorry. I do know the moss is a good substance for houseplants, hold moisture and allows drainage.
