A pair of fun films to do the ironing by. Much loved and known by heart - VHS replaced with DVD. Prompt and well packaged delivery. Thanks.

Having seen both years ago, I can only say that these are an older, much loved set of two films, to keep watching.

I have always loved Short Circuit. My kids loved it, too, more years ago than I care to remember. It's a whacky, feegood 5-star comedy, with Johnny 5 an absolutely brilliant creation. If you don't know the story, a war robot gets hit by lightning and becomes sentient, with hilarious results, as he discovers and embraces life, and the Army frantically tries to get him back or destroy him. Great fun for all the family, 5 stars.The second film is a bit more ho-hum: obviously, having had a hit with No 1, the studio try to repeat it. There is disconinuity, since the main characters frmo No 1 (except Johnny 5 himself) aren't there, and the whole thing is sometimes amusing without being terribly involving. 3 stars for that one, and 4 for the pair.Belated update: I reviewed the films based on memory - they are indeed great. But when I got round to watching the blu rays (or trying to...), I couldn't, because (as I had not realised), although you can change DVD region compatibility with a simple home-brew hack, you can't do that with blu ray. You need to re-chip the thing (scary) or pay big bucks for a firmware upgrade which still requires you to punch in codes every time you change the blu ray region, which is inconvenient to say the least. So, unless you've got a proper multi-region chipped blu ray, you're wasting your money buying this.

christmas present bought expecting to watch on christmas day'ish,imagine our horror to find it can only be played in north america,canada and a few other foreign countries.i would have thought that you buy a dvd in the uk that it would play in the uk,what a gowk i must appear,again buy cheap etc etc.too cheap to send back to us of a.
