Brilliant bit of kit and very good value at the price. Metabolism are a long established German company who has a reputation for quality. They certainly hit the mark with this. Cannot fault it's performance and ease of use.

Fantastic machine. Very well built as expected from Metabo. Chip extraction connected to a Dyson is fantastic, virtually no mess left even when planing at around 120mm height. Was a bit worried Metabo indicated the use of an industrial vacuum was necessary in order to have good chip clearance, my little Dyson (DC19) works fine with plenty of suction, just needs to be emptied a bit more often as the chips do accumulate quite quickly. Finished surface (on white oak) was simply brilliant, super smooth with no tear out. and absolutely no need for any sanding. Just have to be a bit careful feeding in as the rollers grip the workpiece and pull it through, this can cause a dip in the surface but can be avoided by holding the workpiece down on the in-feed table. I also managed to successfully plane smaller lengths than the recommended from Metabo, good if you don't want a lot of waste by using long pieces all the time. Not had to change the blades yet, still very sharp after quite a lot of oak gone through. It is loud but as always I wear ear protectors when using any machinery. Would thoroughly recommend this product.

I'm a hobby woodworker and make items of furniture for my own use. I depend greatly on having a decent planing machine to smooth out boards of raw timber. I could buy a machine costing thousands of pounds but these are designed for commercial use. What I needed was a reliable machine for use about an hour each day. This Metabo fits the bill admirably and is much sturdier than previous machines selling at around the same price.

The media could not be loaded. Great wee machine. Easy to setup and use but the extraction system is crap. The plastic tube gets blocked so easily the shavings just fly out the front. Need to come up with something better but it'll do the job easy.

I work in converted garage so space is limited the Metabo is heavy at 35 kilos, but easy to set up is accurate and gives a smooth finish, overall I’m really pleased, opens up a lot of potential for me in working with wood 🪵 👍

Have used this repeatedly and it works flawlessy.Have planed 12 inch boards and it trims square all day long.Bought this Metabo after doing a lot of research and it lives up to its descritpion.
