Great!!!
I got this for my daughter for her second birthday. The colors are so bright and fun and the toy is all wooden so I know it's sturdy. She's had other lacing things before but what really helps her is the wooden rod at one end to help get it through the holes and then the wooden stopper at the other end so the little beads don't fall off. She loves this and she gets so excited when she gets them all on. She feels like it's a huge accomplishment. This is a great toy and I would recommend it to anyone!

I wish I had invested in a better brand.
I purchased this for my 2 year old and hoped they would be durable enough to be passed down to her brother. While I do like that this set comes with a little tray, the paint has begun chipping on the edges of every piece. I can't even say that it was due to heavy use, because it wasn't.

Cute and fun
My daughter loves this item. She took to it right away and loved stringing up the clothes. The only thing I don't love about it is the fact that the string is too long. Even with all of the clothes on the line there is just far too much line leftover. But the line is a nice soft cotton and the pieces are sturdy wood and bright colors. The little crate it comes in is nice to store all the pieces in on the shelf. Right now it is great for practicing fine motor skills for threading and as she grows older we will practice patterns with this.

Leave the wash and string in the hamper on laundry day.
I am a speech pathologist who works with two year old children (Early Start.) They do not like it because they can't relate to it. They love the stringing cars and animals but none of them ever choose the wash and string. It stays lonely in my toy bag. I would love to exchange it for almost anything else. If that is a possibility, please let me know

My daughter loves it
Very simple kid friendly toy. It is sturdy and brightly colored. Easy stringing that makes my daughter feel successful when she finishes it. Great for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2. Probably too easy over that though.

Great toy for dexterity, very well made
Purchased this for our 20 month old grand daughter who has been extremely enamored with hand dexterity exercises the last couple of months; buckles, pegs, keys in slots. This fit that bill perfectly, it is just the right challenge for her at this age, not too difficult but intense enough that she does not get bored with it. I usually have to instigate the interest, however. I'm not sure if that is because she has several new toys (it was a Christmas gift) or that she prefers the bells and whistle toys, but the whole family insists that choices have some educational/motor skill values disguised as toys and books and this meets that criteria very very well. She has a large enough vocabulary that she can name the items as she strings them on the clothes line. This toy definitely met my expectations, I only give it a 4 star because it's not the first choice of the day by her when time to play. Her first choice either moves, talks, rings, sings or all of the above and at that age I would expect nothing more.

Good lacing toy
We just received this item yesterday and she was very interested. I showed her how to do it and then she was on her way, stringing and unstringing. She is under the recommended age but was very able to do it and enjoy it with supervision. She spent a ton of time playing with it already and showing it to everyone. The 'needle' part was plenty long to go through the items and have enough where she could grab the other side. The clothesline motif is very cute. Overall well worth the purchase. Recommended!

Cute, durable toy
Loved these for my 1 1/2 year old for a Christmas present. Works well for developing hand and eye coordination. My only annoyance (not so much complaint) is that this activity tends to end up with the pieces all over the house and hard to keep together. Doesn't come with any type of bag to keep the pieces together so they end up in the bottom of the toy box or scattered throughout the house and under the couch. ; )
