I understand that time release for vitamins, that they are released over a period of 6-8 hours for slower absorption into blood stream.

Can I split the tablet because it's so large, as many have described?

It splits easily into 2 using your hands and fingers but you can also get a tablet cutter as well. The tablet has a smooth coating that I have not found difficult to swallow even though it is large. I have another supplement that is similar size that is very dry and is much harder to swallow. Everyone is different so I hope this helps.Good luck

Is this product type l or type d of ascorbic acid? meaning which type of molecular configuration?

I do not know. Have you tried asking Lindens? Does it matter if the molecular configuration is cis- or trans- ? As a megadose cf. 60mg RDA, my guess (and that is all it is) is that nutritional activity is hardly affected either way. The slow release time is about 8 hours - that is what is important.
