My first micro-controller. Was able to hook this up and run the sample program, even disconnected!
I have had many traditional raspberry pi systems, but never a micro-controller.This unit comes with only the 2 boards, nothing more. No usb cord, no instructions, no breadboard, no header pins. But, for this price, what do you expect?!In no more then 30 minutes:I went online and found a nice tutorial on how to download Thonny, which is the recommended way of programming the pi with python. You press the button on the PI while you plug it in and it will go into programming mode.I entered in the sample program, saved it as 'main.py' onto the PI and was able to run it. (It was a simple program to flash the LED)I then unplugged it from the laptop, plugged it into a USB power source and was able to continue running the program even disconnected! This is so cool!!I am excited to get some accessories for this! Throw some headers on this, switches, lights, and motors, oh my!Is it Easy to use? Depends what you want to do... Do you know python? It's easier then other solutions!

Works as expected
I've used Arduinos a bunch but this was my first time trying out a Raspberry Pi Pico. I downloaded the Thonny programming IDE as suggested by the Raspberry Pi website and was able to connect to the pico and get a simple blinking led program running. Sweet! I'm excited to try these out in some future projects. They appear to be genuine raspberry pi boards so I have no problem recommending them.
