Product Description The Cylons began as humanity's robot servants. They rebelled and evolved and now they look like us. Their plan is simple: destroy the race that enslaved them. But when their devastating attack leaves human survivors, the Cylons have to improvise. Battlestar Galactica: The Plan tells the story of two powerful Cylon leaders, working separately, and their determination to finish the task.Special Features: Behind the Scenes Featurettes Commentary with Director/Actor Edward James Olmos and Executive Producer/Writer Jane Espenson Deleted Scenes From .co.uk When the final credits rolled on the end of Battlestar Galactica’s final season, you could be forgiven for thinking that’s your lot. Granted, there was one hell of an ending to wrap your head around, but the tale had pretty much been told. Or, as it turned out, it’d nearly been told. For Battlestar Galactica: The Plan wraps up the plot element that had never been fully addressed by the show during its run: just how did the Cylons put their dastardly scheme together in the first place. Battlestar Galactica: The Plan sets about answering that question with the help of lots of footage from the show across its run. Skilfully weaving new events around scenes that seasoned Battlestar fans will know oh-so-well, The Plan confidently fills in some of the gaps, and further fleshes out the Cylons are three-dimensional foes of extreme danger. Is it a satisfying TV movie that comes out of the end of it? Just about, yes. It’s hard to argue that The Plan is entirely necessary, as all it adds is a little bit of gravy over the top of the main dish if anything. But it’s still a fun, clever addition to the Battlestar Galactica universe, and satisfyingly digs more and more into the plans of the Cylons that kickstarted the whole series off. --Jon Foster

Revenge on a racial scale...contains spoilers
firstly do not view until you have watched up to season 3having watched the series 1-5 there are many unanswered questions you will have. The plan goes out to clear the answers or at least give you an idea on how the cylons were thinking and what they wanted to acheive.focusing on Cavil, his dedictation to the work he has taken on this exploration of his mind shows his absolute hate of humanity, why he wants us destroyed.....in ways one has to feel to sorry for him. he can see everything going on, but is blinded by his prejudice.it also shows us that the cylons do have a heart, a moral code, and question their decisions, they are not machines humans think they are...it could be the reverse is true that adama, roslin and the fleet are more of a killing machine than the very race they created.the plan is essential part of the BSG collection, and one that all lovers of the reimagined battlestar require..as said dont watch this until you have done at least season 3, if you have never watched BSG75 still dont watch it until you have done what i have advised..I tip my hat to Jane espenson and Edward james olmos and the cast in the expansion, it makes things all connect..so say we all....

Not worth it, apart from that one gratuitous shot of Ellen Tigh.
A stand-alone film that is not in any way stand-alone, as it’s only really for those who have watched and know the entire series and want to fill in some of the gaps... well, sort of. I guess it adds to the backstory a bit, in a jarringly disjointed and scrappy way. I rented it in HD and watched after the Season 4 episode ‘No Exit’, as has been suggested by various online guides. I wish I had saved my money, or just bought Blood & Chrome on BluRay as that was only a quid more!Has a really nice shot of Ellen Tigh bending over to eat some olives in a tight red dress though.

Made for BSG fans to complement the series
Being a Battlestar Galactica fan, I had to buy this to add to my collection. However, it is made for fans of the series and you would have to have watched seasons 1-3 to fully appreciate the narrative or it may not make much sense. Others have commented that it feels like several scenes pieced together and to some extent it does, but as I say it is clearly aimed at fans who have watched the series and not the one-time viewer. More of a complement to the series than a stand-alone feature. Still, a good watch but not as good as Razor.

Complete RIP OFF
I’ve loved Battlestar Galactica since the original show. BSG 1-4 were amazing and Razor, taken as a ‘stand alone’, was brilliant.‘The Plan’ is a poorly edit mishmash of ‘the bits they had left on the cutting room floor’ after making the show.I literally fell asleep.GREAT artwork on cover, masks a pitiful video experience.

Not great
The original was a classic. This trivialises it will contrived and dumned down over-explanation - some of which really detracts from the better possibilities left hanging in the series. Shame, but I guess it would make some money and ultimately that's all there is in the end for most of people who ultimately have control over this stuff...sad.

Avoid this
Totally pointless!A waste of time!It was like watching a compilation of deleted scenes stretched over an hour and 40 minutes! My advice is to avoid it.

Awesome!
I watched this expecting a cheap cash in and I was surprised at how good it actually was. As said in other reviews, if you've not seen the full series then leave this until you have as there are spoilers and you'd spend most of your time wondering what all the unhinged nonsense was talking about. If you're a fan of the show, from the action scenes to the character and plot building episodes, then this will be welcomed to your collection.Being a bit of a nerd I loved this, and the ending, I thought was fantastic. In my opinion, if you're a true fan you'll love this and should definitely buy it.

Battlestar - The plan
Well I was disapointed. It seems that more money was spent on the box than the special effects from the new footage. The older footage we have seen before was as before grainy in places but still HD. The new footage was low budget effects with obvious annoying unrealistic flaws. The story for the first hour is what you already know from watching the complete series and I could not see the point. You will have to watch to make up your own mind on that. It is a nice addition and a nice idea as I was one of the fans left feeling a little unsatisfied with the ending of the final season. This DVD was supposed to tie it all together but I will have to watch it again as for now cant see the point of it. I give it TWO and 1/2 stars out of 5.
