This is an amazing production and based on fact. It’s unsentimental, sympathetic and depicts a very difficult issue with sympathy and objectivity. I have to admit that there are moments which I found genuinely heartbreaking. I find the whole subject of slavery very troubling and was unaware of this aspect.It tells the story of Nat Turner who learned to read and although a slave, became a preacher. Exploited by his ‘owner’ he reached braking point and the results were not unexpected. This is a lavish production with a few extras which add to the story. I recommend it if you have any interest in social history and want an unsentimental exploration of this story. Every performance is measured and delivered well.

I love this inspirational movie about true story of Slave rebel Nat Turner, I know he is ruthless preacher fighter but like our hardship slave ancestors, he fought and die tragically for our future world black generation freedom equal rights. We should thank and owe Nat Turner and freedom slave fighters for what they have fought against the real evil oppression and made who we are stronger survivors in this world now.Nat Turner memory lives onSalute and Long live freedom forever!Recommended watching

Decided to purchase this to beef up my black history resume. Good purchase - very well made film and well acted buy all concerned. Unlike Freestate Jones this movie does leave the view with a sense of accomplishment that after the suffering of black people throughout this period of US histroy we have achieved something especially if films like this are continued to be made. With so many blacks and Native americans packing out theatres to see BLACK PANTHER, movies like this are not getting the attention they deserve (and need) and black people are all the more impoverished for being so easily distracted.Good movie and highly recommended to fill out you black history resume.

Brilliant film

This film is brilliant such a sad story & the acting is amazing one of the best films I’ve seen.

It is powerful and gritty. Upsetting and informative. A constant reminder, not that we are trying to forget, but I am just so over the scenes of blk wmn being violated, we get it, it happened non-stop during this disgusting period of human history and has repercussions to this day. I found the film so disturbing that I will not watch it again. Yes it showed that some of us rebelled and wanted to break free from this disgusting system that we experienced. I can take nothing from this movie as the slaves died anyway. It was depressing. Not like a queen harriet tubman movie where she freed slaves, you know, something positive. It just showed where our behaviour came from, as he went and did to others what was done to his race.. I felt in a low mood and just froze really. I think enough is enough. Time to deal with the present and refer to how the past links to the present but stop traumatizing ourselves with these types of movies... just a suggestion.

Excellent service. Package arrived on time and in excellent condition. Really enjoyed this movie and all the extras especially since it's based on a true story. In spite of a lot of less than positive reviews (many of them from folks with ulterior motives) I found it to be well worth adding to my personal collection. Stories like this need to be on film to get a better understanding of how our current societies were formed or influenced (like it or not). This is not just Black history, or American history, but the history of a struggle between the powerless and the powerful, and the extent to which they would go when called upon. Well worth adding to your collection.

Excellent film telling the story of Nat Turner. It is so important to inform the youngsters that with Slavery the were persons ready to fight back.It is important to note that the Slave owners would quote parts of the bible to the slaves to literally inform them to "seek favour" from the slaved owner but it was so important to show that with education the truth is there in the bible to tell you to fight back.The next film I want to see is the story of Sam Sharpe and all the other revolutionists who caused slave uprisings in Jamaica (Brad Pitt) get your finger out and make this film!!!
