Easy replacement for water damaged touchpad.
My dog, who was sitting next to me on our patio sectional, decided to turn and bark loudly in my ear at a passing squirrel at the exact moment I was sipping coffee with my macbook pro in my lap. I spilled a nice puddle of coffee right on my touchpad and it began working erratically. I went to youtube and saw that this was easy to replace, so I ordered a new touchpad and a precision screwdriver set. The product arrived on time, nicely packaged and wrapped. It took about 10 minutes to remove the cover, battery and touchpad. I carefully unhooked the connecting cable, remounted the new touchpad and hooked up the cable to the new pad. Put everything back together, rebooted, and it now it works perfectly. Thanks for saving me an expensive trip to the repair shop or worse, I might have been temped to get a new one.

inexpensive touch pad
I had a battery go bad and it expanded, forcing my touch pad out of the laptop. I replaced the battery and while I had it open I decided to change the touchpad, as I was not sure if it had been damaged. I was not sure about this one, but decided to give it a try.It was easy to follow the directions thanks to YouTube video, it took a few minutes to remove the old one and replace it. Re-assembled the laptop and charged the battery. Once all that was done, tried it out. It has a little different feel to it when clicking, but after a little use could not really tell any difference between the original and this one. Saved lots of money doing it myself, so I was happy.

Good return policy, easy to work with
The product fit my 2009 MacPro just great, but note that it is SILVER and not WHITE. Unfortunately after about 3 days it stopped working. It might have been a problem with my cable, since I did not purchase the cable with this trackpad. Returning was simple. Quality looked good too, like original.

Works great, easy to install
Easy to install after watching how-to videos, as long as you have the right kinds of screwdrivers. New trackpad works great. I cleaned all around the edge of the hole (from the underside) before installing the new trackpad. Eight years of dirt in there. Before ordering a new trackpad, I suggest dis-assembling and cleaning around the old one with cotton swabs and alcohol. My old one stopped clicking on the left side, and it might have been just because dirt got under it.

READ THIS TO AVOID SADNESS! My experience with sadness and then JOY
(This stuff applies only to 15" Mid 2010 Macbook Pros) If you have a different year or model, search YouTube for your specific situation!A family member dropped my 15" mid 2010 Macbook Pro. The only apparent damage was cracks in the trackpad, radiating out from the center bottom. It still worked, but I ordered the Totola replacement trackpad.(TIP) When replacing the trackpad on an A1286 MacBook Pro, you have to completely remove the battery to get to the trackpad, so if your battery is old like mine was (original), then just replace the battery while you're doing all this.BE CAREFUL when you unlatch the ribbon cable from the trackpad. The locking latch is a tiny plastic bar that rotates up about 90 degrees, and is held in place with two tiny metal loops of metal. I was being careful, but managed to bust the bar loose by somehow bending the loops. You have to gently lift the bar from the side away from where the cable enters, and also note that the ribbon cable has some adhesive under it that must be gently released after the bar is loose, before you try to pull the cable out. Watch videos on YouTube first! After I had installed my Totola trackpad and reassembled my computer, I found that I couldn't click the trackpad. I tried several times to reinstall the trackpad, seeing if there was binding somewhere, but each time the results were no better.Today, a couple of weeks later, I did some more YouTube searches on trackpad problems and found out about how the "click" works and how to adjust the trackpad click screw. On the body of the computer, between where the two tabs hold the trackpad in place, is an inset six-pointed torxscrew, (#6). This screw pushes out a pad that should sit just above the click button that sits at the bottom of the trackpad. My problem was that even though the height of the click button on the Totola trackpad looked and felt the same as the original trackpad, the adjustment screw was now forcing the click button down, keeping it perma-clicked. Even with a mouse plugged into the computer, I could not get clicks to register, although the cursor tracked correctly.I marked the original orientation of the adjustment screw with a sharpie marker, and then backed off the screw (counter clockwise) two quarter turns, until I could feel the CLICK when I pushed gently on the trackpad. I sealed up the computer, and I was back in business!

Ugh
I do not recommend buying this item without the cable. I did so thinking I would save a few bucks and just reuse the original cable. Big mistake. I found attaching the cable to the trackpad to be a pia and unsuccessful in the end. I purchase another trackpad with the cable already attached and now have a working trackpad again. Wasted $30. Didn’t bother to return the trackpad since the connector on the trackpad was damaged in my attempt to attach the original cable. Spend the extra couple of bucks and buy one with a new cable already attached.

Works great, shipped quick, verry happy!
For about a year I have been dealing with a faulty trackpad, and just skating by using it. Finally I said enough was enough and started to do my due diligence on researching a new trackpad for my aging computer. After a relatively simple installation, if you have experience replacing a battery it is just slightly more complicated, I was amazed at the difference it made! The trackpad works so smoothly and has completely revitalized my computer use. Although I may only use this computer a few more years, I will look to this seller again for any more parts I may need.
