This little gizmo enables you to mark position and drill new holes to hang kitchen cupboard doors with the modern cruciform hinge units - easily!

I wanted a simple, inexpensive jig to ensure correct, consistent and square measurements fitting four concealed hinges in a newly made cupboard door. This was just what I was looking for and worked well on the whole. Unresolved uncertainty about the cup part edge dimensions that the vendor was unable to answer. The jig is designed for a 4mm gap to the edge of the door whereas many fitting guides suggest a 5mm gap. Didn’t make any difference in my case, though. The jig enabled me to accurately and consistently mark the holes for the four hinge pieces inside the cabinet and also to locate the centre point to drill out the cup in the door. What is lacking, surprisingly, are two holes to mark where the two holes should be to secure the cup? Why the jig isn’t designed to include these critical marks is a mystery and is certainly a negative for an otherwise positive product.

I was sceptical as made of plastic and cheap. But, thought I'd buy one and give it a go but expected to be making my own jig as a result of a rubbish product.How wrong I was, this is actually, good! I tried on a couple of pieces of scrap board to mimic the side and door. Result, spot on. Just use a very sharp pencil to mark centres, not a drill however fine, as could result in enlarged holes in the jig which as the tolerances are fine will affect alignment of hinge. It's as cheap as chips and a must when fitting concealed hinges. I've used this to fit 20 hinges and each and every one, spot on.

Great piece of kit but needs to be see through so any markings can be seen

As a DIYer hanging my own over hang doors this is really helpful tool. This and a self centre drill bit makes the installation that much easier.

Easy to use, I bought it for centering a new door hinge hole and aligning hinge screw holes on cabinets.Did the job and everything lined up perfectly. Only 4 stars as it is a small piece of plastic, however it performs the function it’s designed for.
