Perfect for office work and multitasking
I got this last year for my remote work and I was expecting it to be good; but it has been marvellous. I like the width and brightness. The bend angle is just about right ( my only complain) but the monitor does the job perfectly fine. The speakers are bangers too. The only complain I got is that I wish the screen was taller and kept the widthUpdate: I am happy with the height actually. Quite easy on the neck. Also, the monitor has grown on me. I love it! I like how easy it is to connect and the screen quality. Defo worth it if you get it for £850ish

Great picture quality but very heavy
This was replacing a Lenovo 36 inch monitor that I'd had for a couple of years. The unit is very heavy and very wide as to be expected the picture quality is fabulous it just plugged into my Windows laptop and started working without complaint.I started by using the LG software to control placement on the screen and the layout but it turns out you don't actually need that so I just got rid of it after a while and started using the standard Windows settings and Windows powertoysI managed to get away with the desk mount that I already had for the previous monitor but it's right on the edge so if you're coming from anything less than a previous monitor of 36 inches then I would suggest getting a new desk mount

The Good The Bad and The Ugly
Why get an ultrawide screen and not two monitors? Having had both, the ultrawide wins hands down. You can't put anything in the middle of where two monitors meet, meaning you lose real-estate of the screen and become quite inefficient. Having an ultrawide monitor, you can put window screens anywhere! This is great especially if using softwares like excel and you want to view multiple sheets at once, no concern for where they go.Specifics about the LG ultrawide 49"The Good - Excellent quality, really well built monitor. Smooth up, down, side and swivel action.144 Hz and being IPS with 2 x 10W speakers is all you need for every day work or for amateur gamers.Gives power to my Macbook Pro M1 MAX with no issues. However HP (HP is terrible anyway) struggles and I need to connect it externally. The bad - it is expensive, you could get 2 decent monitors for around half the price, however it all depends on how much you value your productivity and personal budget for items such as these. However, the LG is on the more value for money side compared to other 49" screens. The Ugly - only 2 USB-B ports and 1 useless USB-A port. The USB-A port (the square-ish one which you might use for printers) is something which I'm confident hardly anyone will use and if they put a USB-B port instead, it would have been more useful. My keyboard and mouse (one is unify the other bolt so have two have separate usbs receivers) take up the 2 USB-B ports so I don't have any space for items such as Webcams or microphones. I need a seperate hub which means I would need to connect 2 cables into my macbook or laptops. Yes it's a first world problem, however if you're splashing out top money, you would expect an all in one solution.I have tried using a USB-A to USB-B female adaptor but it doesn't connect to the webcam. I have a feeling it's to do with the USB-A being UP only. So it doesn't supply power. If LG expect customers be connecting printers to their monitor, then why not supply a LAN port too? I assume they know if you are going to have a set up like this, you will probably have a wifi printer too.Overall I'm happy with the monitor and glad I went for this model.Tip: If your screen goes on and off, it could be because your laptop needs more power, so connect it using the manufactures power supply.Attached is a photo of the back of the product and no one really takes photos of those. Just to show how stylish it look sitting on a desk.

Looks brilliant
Delivery time is a bit longer than i would have wanted but the screen is amazing. Screen quality is good. Doesn’t get too bright but it’s good enough in normal lighting.

An amazing buy at the discount
This monitor was discounted by 45% when I bought it - I can't argue with that!It is a well-built, huge screen, that is perfect for productivity - whether that is video editing, using Cubase DAW, or multi-tasking.Although it is not quite as bright as my previous 34" (which died), it is bright enough for me. And it can be used with LG's calibration software for those who want to fine tune it more.I am very impressed with the contrast - the blacks are very black. And the overall sharpness produces a very clean image. I have used this happily for both photo editing and video editing. More than good enough for YouTube etc. Even in a pro-editing setting, it would work well as the main work screen, while adding a higher quality reference screen. The built-in speakers are not too bad, considering. But you will want decent external speakers.Overall, this has proved a decent, solid replacement, and I am enjoying it immensely.

First One Arrived With A Damaged Screen - Awaiting Refund
Long story but currently being sorted out by Amazon - just to say 1st one arrived with a damaged cracked screen although packaging seemed ok (never mind) currently being returned BUT arrival of 2nd delivery soon after..This is an amazing monitor, probably the ultimate in IPS displays. I'm a content creator (no gaming) and this is the absolute best available... Nothing comes anywhere near what this monitor produces. Keep your posh overpriced brands and head for LG. Even while video rendering top, video editing side and browsing with 10 to 15 tabs open this LG doesn't even blink, Oh and watching videos is a whole different experience... WOW LG you've produced the best once again.....
