Q: Are these shoes free to return? Just in case there is an issue with them or the not the right size?

My son has a size 6 and they are true to size in his case.

Q: Are these suitable for female?

They are designed for men and are masculine (Sorry if I sound sexist it is not intended) During my many years in the RAF women did not wear this design.

Q: Can i use for safety boots and does it set off the metal detector machine

I'm afraid that the cadet shoes are not suitable as safety boots as they do not have a hardened protective toecap. I am not certain but I don't believe that the shoes would set off a metal detector machine as I don't believe that they contain any metal.
