THIS is it. I can't believe other Mandolines are being sold and bought more than this type. The other cheaper mandolines ONLY come with a "protective" safety glove and those are pretty unsafe, especially for beginners.This mandoline is the only one that should be sold on the market. Not only does it cut well and sharply, the safety slicer gear that you attach to one side of the mandoline along with the attachment that you use to push the vegetable down as you slice (so your hand will NEVER need to be near the blade) are absolutely paramount for this usage. I bought a glove separately and put food-safe latex gloves over that so that I can touch the food hygienically. I only use the glove(s) for vegetables that don't fit in the slicer gear, such as larger tomatoes/onions and cucumbers, but other than that, I have been using the safety gear and attachments and my hands are completely safe from the blade. I even brought this to a house dinner party and didn't need to wear gloves and never had to worry about my hands. Everyone loved it. Very friendly for beginners who are learning how to slice with a mandoline, as using a mandoline does require a bit of technique (such as how hard / fast / amount of pressure to put while slicing to get better results).Buying another mandoline that doesn't come with the safety gear attachments and relying solely on your ability not to accidentally touch the blade with the "protective" gloves you're wearing is just blatantly unsafe and dangerous, especially in that you're slicing fast while applying pressure toward the sharp blade.

Love it and very convenient for those moments in the kitchen.

Nice mandolin for the price. Cuts well, preset thickness…and difficult to clean

These blades on the mandolin are sharp! Don't count on the plastic veggie holder to keep your hands safe! Wonderful mandoline though. I love it!

I searched through ALL mandolins listed and decided on this one because it doesn't have a bunch of loose parts AND the real selling feature (due to my son's fear of me getting cut) was the GUARD that protects my hands. This one also has the thickest setting for slicing which I need for certain dishes. It is getting easier as I get used to it.I only wish there was a case to store it in. My very old one had a case which kept it neat and not a cutting hazard.

Very pleased with this unit. Best feature is the guard which locks securely in place on the rail and makes operation much safer. Blade is sharp, and different features work well. I purchased the white one with added features. Would purchase again.

The maker claims over and over again in their listing that this makes waffle fries and even gives a how-to "As Waffle Fry cutter..." and states it has 2 waffle blades. It DOES NOT MAKE WAFFLE FRIES or wavy fries even. You may get disfigured wavy chips but YOU WILL NOT MAKE WAFFLE FRIES OR WAVY FRIES with this unit.This slicer also slides and does not grip any structure underneath the unit so, you will need to stabalize it another way. How lighweight it is and moving while you are trying to slice makes this unit unnecessarily unsafe. Cutting is not smooth as they claim.If you are trying to make waffle fries, I do not recommend purchasing this because you will not end up with waffle fries.
