Great Bag
As most photographers will agree finding the perfect bag is almost impossible but this really does come close! It’s really well made and feels good to carry the only criticisms I have is that is not quite as big as I thought it would be and the padding is pretty much nonexistent but having said that I wouldn’t trade it now for another… plus it just looks great!

Excellent!
I just bought this as I needed a bag with more room than my Billingham Hadley Pro. I have used Billingham for over 30 years, and currently have 3 Billingham bags, and rate them highly. But a needed another bag of a different size.I have been aware Of Domke's reputation for a long time, but thought that their bags didn't offer enough protection as they have less padding than other bags. But I am highly impressed with the F-2!The bag is extremely well made of high quality materials - just like Billingham but with a different design approach. It also looks smaller than I imagined, which is good, but it can swallow a lot of kit, all with easy access. The lack of padding on the walls and pockets oughtn't to be a problem unless you like swinging your bag around - and you can get a range of extra padded inserts, plus lens wraps, if needed. The illustrations above are a bit confusing as to what colour this bag is. It's actually a very dark brown. As with Billingham, it makes a pleasant change to buy something that's not made in China or Taiwan etc. Not that they don't produce some good quality stuff, but it's good to buy an American product that's actually made in the USA!).

A good bag
I bought this bag because I wanted a hard-wearing and durable bag to carry my birdwatching kit. Initial impressions are that it is very well made and the rugged wear material seems to be very sturdy. Sorry that I cannot comment on its capabilities as a camera bag simply because it is being used for birdwatching.I have seen a few questions about the wax rubbing off on clothing and equipment. My bag does not feel to be over waxed and no residue has rubbed off on my hands or on the equipment in the bag. It is also fairly discrete and does not advertise the fact that anything worth stealing is contained inside - sadly these days that is a factor in my choice of bag.All in all I am very pleased with the bag

Some of the best camera babes ever!
The original size of Domke shoulder bag and in many ways is just perfect. I have an F6 as well which is just a little less deep, but this one is perfect to take longer lenses. The other pockets are great for spare batteries and stuff, with birding books in the back pocket. The waxed Rugged wear version is a softer fabric which means it moulds round you better than the other versions and can be squashed up a little.

I don't understand what the fuss is about
I don't understand what the fuss is about. This bag is average at best. And only that good due to its looks. As a bag to put expensive camera gear in its quite poor. The way the shoulder strap attaches to the bag, means that the lid ruffles up at the edge. If it rained it would fill with water. The lid will act like a gutter and the water would flow right in to the bag. It looks like it will last a long time. It is very comfortable for a shoulder bag, due to the wide strap. The padding is very minimalist, not up to protecting kit if you are on the clumsy side. It looks great. If you live in a place with lots or rain (I do) the design is going to be a problem. It is a shame the lid is not wider and the strap attachment different. I wanted to like this bag. I will use it for pinhole/old film cameras, but not digital. I would recommend you try one before ordering, it's not as big as the claims. Large dslr lenses won't fit in the padded section. No way could you get 2 pro dslr,s in it. I can manage my 80d and a couple of kit lenses. Won't fit 70-300 l series lens. Has space / pockets for things that don't need protecting, like food, drink and small waterproof coat. Bottom line is if the clouds open your stuff will get wet.

The bag is not plagued with unnecessary toggles overly long straps or that awful netting that ...
Back when Jim Domke designed this bag film SLR,s and lenses were less chunky and bulbous than modern digital equivalents, so it does take a little persuasion to get gear into this bag. That said it is reasonably soft and with use my gear sits snug and gets easier with use to retrieve whatever I need from it. The bag is not plagued with unnecessary toggles overly long straps or that awful netting that festoon some bags. It is worth taking the time to wax the bag right at the start while it's still fairly smooth, it probably won't withstand a prolonged downpour but a shower of rain is no problem. Capacity wise it's not as cavernous as some bags so some thought is required about what to take and what to leave behind. It doesn't scream camera bag, the logo is discreet and tasteful. Fast becoming the best bag I have ever owned. Highly recommended.

this is a great bag can fit pro body in and 4 lenses after adjusting inserts plenty of space in side pockets for filters and holder, the finish of the bag is very good and like the look of the waxed brown canvas plus you get a tub of wax included all in all great bag and good service arrived 3 days earlier than estimated happy customer

Excellent apart from the padded inserts.
A rugged well made bag but the quality of the padded inserts is lamentable. Domke could do better than this and it's unfortunate that they allow one small detail to let down the quality of an otherwise excellent bag.
